Student answer (Band 5.5)
In today,s world, many people use the internet to watch videos, movies, and shows. Because of this, some people belive that theatres and cinemas are not necessary any more. However, others think these places are still ver important for the economy and culture. This easy will discuss both points of view and explain why i believe cinemas still have a palce our lives.
On one hand the internet makes easy to watch moives. We can watch any time or prefer to watch with our family and friends. Watch films, shows and series using the phones and the laptop. This is often cheapean to go cinemas and travel expensive and buy ticket. Ticket are so expensive and some times students and begggar are not affordable. Onlines watch movies, tradditional culture and different variety any time or any place with friends. This is too old fashion to go cinemas and watch movies.
On the other hand, theatres and cinemas provide great value of society. Economically, they create many jobs for staff, cleaner, nd techinal workers. They also help the local business like coffess shop nearby, resturants peoples goes when the movie is end and enjoy with friends, or families on resturants. Culturally going to cinemas for the society event. It is the way to spend time with friends or families and shring our problems and experinces. The big screen high quality sound make feeling good and he does not match the phone.
In my opinion. while online streaming is convenients, it cannot replace the experience of a threate. cinemas has good point to meets with friends and sharing our lives problems or skills. Therefore i believe cinema important ion our lives.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address both sides of the discussion and give a clear opinion that cinemas remain important. The first body paragraph explains the convenience and lower cost of online viewing, while the second gives relevant economic and social reasons to support cinemas, including employment and nearby businesses. Your position is also restated in the conclusion. However, some points are asserted rather than explained: for example, the claim that online viewing is “too old fashion” is unclear, and the cultural value of cinema-going could be developed with a specific example. The economic and cultural arguments are relevant, but they are not equally clear or fully supported. Explain how these benefits affect communities and connect each example more directly to your opinion.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, and a conclusion. Phrases such as “On one hand,” “On the other hand,” and “In my opinion” help signal the direction of the argument. This makes the main progression understandable. However, cohesion is sometimes mechanical, and several sentences are fragments or loosely connected, such as “Watch films, shows and series using the phones and the laptop.” The ideas about cost, convenience, and culture also move abruptly, while references such as “he” in the final body paragraph are unclear. Use complete sentences, link each supporting point to the next, and make pronoun references explicit to create smoother progression.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “streaming,” “economically,” “local business,” “high quality sound,” and “experience.” These choices show an attempt to discuss both practical and cultural aspects rather than relying only on basic terms. However, spelling errors and inaccurate word choices are noticeable and sometimes make meaning difficult to follow, as in “cheapean,” “begggar,” “Onlines,” and “threate.” Some phrases are also unnatural, such as “provide great value of society” and “cinemas has good point.” Build accuracy by checking spelling and learning common collocations for this topic, such as “create employment,” “support local businesses,” and “a shared cultural experience.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including “Because of this, some people believe…” and “while online streaming is convenient, it cannot replace…”. These structures help express cause and contrast. However, grammatical control is uneven, and errors in sentence construction, agreement, articles, and punctuation sometimes make the message harder to follow. For example, “We can watch any time or prefer to watch” has an incomplete or mismatched structure, and “cinemas has good point” does not show correct subject–verb agreement or article use. Several fragments also appear, including “Watch films, shows and series…” Practise forming complete sentences and check agreement, articles, and sentence boundaries during revision.
