Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You discuss both perspectives and state a consistent preference for theatres and cinemas, so the response is relevant to the task. The digital-age view is supported with points about saving time and money, having more options, and watching flexibly. However, these points are mostly listed rather than explained, and the claim that people can do other work while watching is not developed. The case for venues is also asserted more than demonstrated: the links between cinema attendance, cultural traditions, and national economic growth need clearer explanation or a specific example. Your opinion is present, but it would be stronger if you compared the benefits directly and showed why they outweigh online convenience. This leaves some parts of the task less fully addressed than others.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a clear overall arrangement: an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, your opinion, and a conclusion. This makes the main direction easy to follow. You also use signposting such as “On the other hand,” “For instance,” and “In conclusion.” However, connections between ideas are sometimes mechanical or unclear. Several sentences begin with “Furthermore” or “Moreover,” while the final opinion paragraph repeats claims already made without adding much progression. Some references are also difficult to follow, as in “it supports country growth,” where the referent of “it” is not precise. To improve, organise each body paragraph around one main claim, explain it, and then link it explicitly to the task rather than relying on repeated connectors.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “digital age,” “flexibility,” “culturally,” and “traditions,” and the reader can generally understand your intended meaning. However, the range is limited and several noticeable spelling, word-form, and collocation errors reduce precision: “impotan,” “computting,” “numirous,” and “cineams” are examples. Some phrases are also unnatural, such as “helps in economically growth” and “various number of options.” Repetition of “important,” “economically,” and “traditions” further limits variety. Aim to learn accurate topic collocations and check spelling carefully; for example, explain how venues “support local employment” or “preserve cultural experiences” rather than repeating broad claims about growth and tradition.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt a mixture of simple sentences and longer clauses, including a concession in the introduction and a time clause in “while watching favorite shows or movies.” However, the range is limited, and attempts at more complex sentences are often faulty. Subject–verb agreement errors appear in “Those who favour digital age believes” and “Whenever, we goes,” while articles and sentence boundaries are also inconsistent. For example, “A numirous cultural programs are held in cinemas” has problems with the determiner and plural structure, and “Having considered both sides, i believe…” needs accurate capitalisation and punctuation. These errors sometimes make the reader pause. Practise building accurate sentences with subordinate clauses, and proofread agreement, articles, and punctuation.
