Student answer (Band 5.5)

Many individuals said that the technological era, cinemas and theatres are not so much necessary as poeple can watch all variety of entertainment through internet while, some individuals does not agree beacuse they believe that they play an important role in country economics and cuture.

On one side, there is group of people that thinks that they no longer needs entertainment venues as nowadays they can watch all those things on digital products which has different platforms some are paid and some are free. These platforms has provided us with all the newly launched and old movies, seasons, dramas etc. These individuals may not like to go public areas anymore and preferto watch these things at home with family. As there are many rules and regulations in public areas as they have to travel, buy tickets and expensive foods from outside of theatres and cinemas. As many people have their own small cinemas at home where they can watch on different apps and eat whatever they want.

On the other hand, some civilians think that watching these things in public areas can be another form of support for the economy and it promotes their culture. As they are not much bothered with travelling, buying or booking expensive food and tickets. They can enjoy with family, friends or relatives. Also they can promote their country entertainment industry. They can watch and meet their favourite figures a well.

In my opinion, I prefer that watching these things individually or with someone it depends upon the thinking whether we want to go public entertainment veneues or prefer home cinemas or TV launch, where we can eat and watch whatever and whenever we want not restricted by any rules we can either buy some subscription of an app or maybe some free platforms that are free. Whereas, some like to go and watch in public entertainment veneues.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You address both views: the first body paragraph explains the convenience of watching at home, while the next mentions economic and cultural support from attending venues. Your own preference is also included. However, the discussion is only partly developed. The economic and cultural claims are asserted rather than explained—for example, you say venues “support for the economy” and “promote their culture” without showing how jobs, ticket revenue, or shared cultural experiences result. Your opinion is also difficult to identify because you present home viewing as your preference, then conclude that the choice depends on individual thinking and repeat both options. State a consistent position and support each side with a specific reason or example.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, and a concluding opinion. Transitions such as “On one side” and “On the other hand” help readers follow the contrast. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes mechanical, with several ideas joined by repeated “as” and “also.” The final paragraph is especially difficult to follow because it combines your preference, home-viewing benefits, subscription options, and the opposing view in one long sentence. Some references are unclear, such as “they” in the paragraph about public venues. Use clearer topic sentences, divide complex points into shorter sentences, and make the conclusion directly summarise your position.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “digital products,” “platforms,” “subscription,” and “entertainment industry,” so the main ideas are generally understandable. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate, which sometimes makes meaning less clear. Examples include “country economics,” “public entertainment veneues,” “TV launch,” and “favourite figures.” There are also noticeable spelling errors, such as “poeple,” “beacuse,” and “cuture.” Aim for more precise topic vocabulary and check spelling carefully. For instance, describe the economic contribution of venues directly and use natural expressions for watching at home or seeing performers in person.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including clauses introduced by “as” and “where,” and the paragraph structure helps convey the main message. However, errors are frequent, and some sentences are difficult to process. For example, “some individuals does not agree” has subject–verb disagreement, while “they no longer needs” also has an incorrect verb form. In “These platforms has provided us,” the plural subject requires a plural verb. The final sentence runs several ideas together, with unclear clause boundaries and punctuation. Practise checking subject–verb agreement and verb forms, and break long sentences into shorter units. This will make your meaning clearer while allowing you to retain complex structures.
