Student answer (Band 5.5)
There is ongoing argument that as we are living in technological area, several people believe that due to online facilities the trend to visit the entertaiment spots has decreased however, other people say that it is as important as it was. This essay will discuss both opinions and give my opinion.
On the one hand, the tendency to visit the cinemas and theaters is still most of the people's first choice. Firstly, as different individuals belonging to certain cultures and traditions go to watch movies therefore, they will come across by their rituals and cultural practice. Secondly, staying at home for long time leads to harmful impact on our mental health so, it gives a person chance to communicate with different pupils and can have a gathering with friends. Thirdly, It helps country to grow economically For example, people pay for tickets and this goes directly goes to government which in turn use it for country's progress.
On the other hand, some human beings enjoy the facilities of the digital era and prefer to stay at home and enjoy the entertainment through internet. One major reason of people opting for it due to their privacy concerns as many want to be in their comfort zone and take pleasure of their favourite serial. Moreover, it also save their time and money as, they have to pay for viewing a film in theater which they can observe for free been confined to their homes.
In conclusion, i will concede that exploring the places of entertainment should not be outdated given that, it is favourable for a Nation's financial status and help people to be socially active. Nevertheless, certain individuals opposes this aspect due to privacy concerns.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address both views and give a clear preference for the continuing value of entertainment venues, especially in the conclusion. The cultural, social and economic reasons are relevant, and the contrast with privacy, convenience and cost gives the opposing view a place in the discussion. However, the two sides are not developed equally: the online-viewing paragraph gives reasons but little explanation or example, while the claim that ticket payments go directly to government is asserted without support. The cultural point also needs a clearer link to theatres and cinemas specifically. To strengthen the response, explain how venues contribute to cultural life and local employment, and support the online perspective with a concrete example.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, and a conclusion. Signposting such as “On the one hand,” “On the other hand,” and “In conclusion” helps readers follow the discussion. Within paragraphs, however, the sequence of points can feel list-like, particularly with “Firstly,” “Secondly,” and “Thirdly,” and some links are awkward or unclear. For example, “therefore” does not clearly connect cultural background to attending a film, and “which in turn use it” makes the reference to ticket revenue difficult to follow. Use fewer formulaic transitions and make the relationship between each claim and its explanation explicit. This would create smoother progression while retaining the clear paragraph structure.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use enough topic-related vocabulary to discuss the issue, including “digital era,” “privacy concerns,” “cultural practice,” and “economically.” There are also attempts at less common phrasing, such as “financial status” and “socially active.” However, several word choices and collocations are inaccurate or unnatural, and spelling errors are noticeable: “entertaiment,” “pupils” for people, and “been confined” for being confined. Phrases such as “exploring the places of entertainment” and “take pleasure of” also make the meaning less natural. Aim for precise, conventional combinations and check spelling and word forms carefully. A more controlled vocabulary would make your ideas clearer without requiring more elaborate wording.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt a mix of simple and complex sentences, including clauses beginning with “as,” “which,” and “given that,” and the overall meaning is generally understandable. Some sentence structures are nevertheless faulty or difficult to control. For example, “Firstly, as … therefore” combines two linking structures, while “One major reason of people opting for it due to…” lacks a complete grammatical pattern. There are also agreement and verb-form errors in “it also save their time” and “certain individuals opposes,” as well as punctuation problems where commas are placed around “so” and “as.” Practise building complete clauses and checking subject–verb agreement, then use complex structures selectively and punctuate them clearly.
