Student answer (Band 6.0)

In today's digital world, there is an increasing number of people argue that cinemas and theatres are no longer vital because individuals can watch all the entertainment online in their house. While otheres believe that theatres and cinemas are still play a significant role in both culture and economy. This essay will discuss both perspectives before exaplaining why I believe that a balanced approach is the most beneficial.

On the one hand, a growing number of people believe that nowadays each and every things available online on the internet. Therefore, most of people prepre to watch informative or entertainment videos or events online in their own home without leaving their houses. Furthermore, theatres are play traditional cultural and old music where the young people have very little interest and they want advanced state-of-the-art quality of videos. Moreover, going to cinemas are sometimes very expensive and time consuming process. For instance, labours do not have enough budget to buy cinema ticket or to give special time for it due to their strick working schedule and lack of funds.

On the other hand, critics hold completely different veiw that theatres and cinemas are still crucial for economy. To elaborate further, whenever cinemas run then the employment rate could be maintained and multiple people have the opportunity to work in theatres and earn some money for their families. Beside job vacancies, the government have also paid a considerable amount in the form of tax, so the country would be economically boost. Nevertheless, Cinemas and theatres have also so many contributions in the cultural developments such as inceasing the face-to-face communication among different culture and behaviours. Moreover, going to such kinds of places can also help in culture exchage and community development which is impossible to achieve it with watching online entertainment contents.

In conclusion, some individuals argue that theatres and cinemas are no longer important due the availablities of online resources, save time and money and busy schedule of workers. While the critics think that these these places play a crucial role in country economy, development and exchange of culture. Conversely, I firmly believe that a balanced approach is more suitable by encourage some people towards theatres and cinemas to boost the country economy and build a healthy relationship among diverse culture, while the vast amount of online resources should also facilitates public to easily gain benefits from internet sources like watching entertainment vidios or gaining some information from websides without leaving home.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

You address both sides of the discussion and state your own position: the conclusion supports a “balanced approach,” combining online access with the cultural and economic value of venues. Relevant reasons include convenience and cost for online viewing, employment and tax revenue for venues, and cultural exchange. This covers the task well, and the examples help make the argument concrete. However, some points are asserted rather than fully explained. For example, the claim that theatres present traditional culture that young people have little interest in is broad, and the economic benefits could be developed with a clearer explanation of how venues support related businesses. To strengthen the response further, extend these ideas and make the balance in your opinion more precise.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The essay has a clear overall structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, and a conclusion that returns to your position. Signposting such as “On the one hand,” “On the other hand,” and “In conclusion” makes the progression easy to follow. The main limitation is that some links feel mechanical or do not show the exact relationship between ideas. For instance, “Beside job vacancies” introduces taxation, but the connection could be expressed more smoothly, and the final sentence combines several points in a long sequence. Some references, such as “these these places,” also make the flow less polished. Use transitions selectively and organise each paragraph around a clearer sequence of claim, explanation, and example.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You attempt a range of topic-related vocabulary, including “significant role,” “employment rate,” “cultural developments,” and “community development.” These choices help communicate the main ideas, and some less common expressions show an effort to discuss economic and cultural effects. However, inaccurate word forms, spelling, and collocations are noticeable and sometimes make the meaning less natural: “prepre,” “veiw,” “culture exchage,” and “economically boost” are examples. Phrases such as “each and every things” and “entertainment contents” are also awkward. Aim for accurate, natural combinations rather than adding more ambitious vocabulary; checking spelling and learning common collocations for this topic would improve clarity and precision.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You use both simple and more complex sentence forms, including clauses introduced by “because,” “whenever,” and “while,” and the overall meaning is generally recoverable. However, control is uneven, particularly in verb forms, agreement, articles, and sentence construction. For example, “there is an increasing number of people argue” needs a different clause structure, while “theatres are still play” and “the government have” show problems with verb form and agreement. In “going to cinemas are sometimes very expensive,” the subject and verb do not agree. The final sentence also contains several clauses that are difficult to manage accurately. Practise building complex sentences from a clear main clause, then check each verb against its subject.
