Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You address both views and give a clear preference in the conclusion: cinemas and theatres remain important, particularly for social connection and employment. The discussion of online entertainment is relevant, and the example of people choosing home viewing because it saves time helps explain that position. However, the two sides are not developed evenly: the first paragraph mainly describes convenience, while the second gives several claims about friendship and income without explaining the economic or cultural significance in much detail. The conclusion also introduces ticket prices without connecting this point to the discussion. To strengthen the response, explain each view more fully and support the cultural and economic arguments with specific examples.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, one paragraph for each view, and a conclusion. The contrast marker “On the other hand” helps signal the shift between positions, and the main ideas are generally easy to follow. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes unclear, especially in the first body paragraph, where the move from technology use to films being uploaded online is abrupt. Some links are mechanical or imprecise, such as “So” and “By this,” and the final sentence combines the writer’s conclusion with a new point about ticket prices. Use clearer links between cause and effect, and keep each paragraph focused on developing its central argument.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “entertainment,” “income source,” “financially,” and “quality of time,” so the reader can understand the main ideas. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are noticeably inaccurate, sometimes making meaning less clear. For example, “recreation” is not a natural substitute for entertainment here, “their own to eat in meal” is difficult to interpret, and “grow up financially” does not express the intended idea. Spelling errors such as “tecnological,” “beacuse,” and “becuase” also affect accuracy. Build a more precise range of phrases for discussing convenience, cultural value, and economic benefits, and check spelling carefully.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a contrast in the opening and a reason clause beginning “because.” However, control is inconsistent, and errors in verb forms, agreement, articles, and sentence construction sometimes make the reader work to understand the meaning. For instance, “This essay intend the both points of view” has an incorrect verb form and an unclear structure, while “everyone used their own technological gadget” shifts awkwardly into the past tense. The sentence beginning “For example, which movies…” is also incomplete or poorly connected to the preceding idea. Practise building accurate subject–verb patterns and separating long ideas into clear sentences; then check tense consistency and punctuation.
