Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You address both sides of the discussion and state a clear preference for online entertainment: “I agree with first notion.” The first body paragraph gives relevant reasons, including convenience, saving time and money, and access to many films through Netflix. The second paragraph also identifies economic benefits of cinemas, such as providing local jobs and supporting nearby shops. However, the cultural importance mentioned in the prompt is not really explained, and the economic points are asserted rather than illustrated or developed. Your conclusion repeats your preference but does not resolve the cultural argument. To strengthen the response, explain why shared cinema experiences or theatre traditions matter, and support each main reason with a clearer example.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, two paragraphs presenting opposing views, and a conclusion. “On the one hand” and “On the other hand” make the discussion easy to follow, while “To encapsulate” signals the ending. This coherent overall arrangement is a strength. However, progression within paragraphs is less controlled: the first body paragraph moves from convenience to income, subscriptions, savings and offers without clearly showing how each point connects. Some linking phrases, such as “Moreover” and “What is more,” are used mechanically, and the final paragraph repeats earlier claims rather than drawing them together. Use clearer topic sentences and connect each supporting detail directly to the paragraph’s main idea.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You attempt vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “hustle and bustle,” “paramount,” “fundamental needs” and “economical and cultural growth.” These choices show an effort to use more than basic language. However, the range is limited by frequent spelling errors and inaccurate word choice, which sometimes make the meaning harder to understand: “contemporeroy,” “sufficent,” “subscribtion,” and “Netflex” are examples. Some phrases are also unnatural, such as “enjoy in some money” and “attain every recreational like movie.” Aim for accurate, natural collocations rather than inserting formal-sounding words. Proofread spelling carefully and learn topic phrases such as “save money,” “cultural significance,” and “a source of employment.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You use both simple statements and attempts at longer structures, including a reason clause with “because” and a contrast introduced by “although.” However, complex sentences are often faulty, and errors in agreement, articles, and sentence construction recur. For example, “the value … are lesser” has a subject–verb agreement problem, while “it is convenient and effective way” is missing an article. The sentence beginning “On the one hand” runs several ideas together, making the relationships between clauses unclear. There are also inconsistent sentence boundaries and capitalization, such as “people” after a full stop. Practise building one complete main clause at a time, then add subordinate clauses with accurate agreement and punctuation.
