Student answer (Band 6.0)

It is often argued that in current digital era theaters and cinemas should be closed because all the individuals can watch all the shows, and the movies can watch online, while others believe that they are still crutial for culture and economy. Although digital devices provide all the entertainment, I believe that cinema houses and theaters should not be closed because they provide us place for recreational activities and help to boost econmy.

To commence with, why individuals believe that cinemas and theaters are no longer important. The most significant reason is advancement in technology. To explain it, on internet people can watch wide variety of programs icluding, films, funny shows, and other short dramas which helps individuals to save their money and time. Moreocer, wathing movies and dramas at smart phones and computers or telivisions give an opportunity to people to watch all the comedy at their own place, and it also helps them to watch anything that they want. For example, people can watch documentries and other materials in a mobile phone using the internet at home or any other place. Consequently, there is no need to travel long distances for watching comedy shows in cinema houses for entertainment.

However, those who consider theaters and cinemas are important believe that they are essential for culture and economy. This is because watching films in a movie house reminds individuals about their cultures. when people spend time outdoor activities, they engaged in different type of new cultural activites, which helps them to transfer their cultures in youngsters. furthermore, if individuals travel and watch comedies in a theater, it will help to imorove tax payments, which ultimately enhance the economy of a country. For instance, individuals from countryside areas travel in a metropolitan area to watch the movies and dramas in cinemas, they spend money in fares, purchasing things and other activities, which increase the public budget. As a result, entertainment housed should not be closed to provide a space for recreational activities.

In conclusion, Although, modern technological gadgets can provide all the watching material online, theaters and cinemas are still important to save ancestral culture, and to help for economical support.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

You discuss both perspectives and state a consistent opinion: online entertainment is convenient, but cinemas and theatres should remain open for cultural and economic reasons. The examples about watching films at home and visitors spending on fares and purchases are relevant to the task. This covers its main requirements, and your position is clear. However, some points are asserted rather than fully explained. For example, the link between attending a cinema and preserving culture is not made precise, and the claim that outdoor activities transfer culture to young people needs clearer support. Develop these ideas with a specific explanation or example, and distinguish more clearly between the cultural and economic benefits. That fuller development would make the response more complete and persuasive.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, one paragraph for each view, and a conclusion. Phrases such as “To commence with,” “However,” and “In conclusion” help signal the direction of the argument, and the reader can follow the main progression. Some linking is mechanical, however, and several sentences are joined by repeated “and” or “which” constructions. The reference in “they engaged in different type of new cultural activities” is also unclear: it is not immediately evident who “they” refers to or how the activities preserve culture. Use a wider range of transitions and make pronouns refer unmistakably to a noun. Group each paragraph around one main claim, then explain and illustrate it before moving on.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “advancement in technology,” “recreational activities,” “public budget,” and “ancestral culture.” These choices show an attempt to discuss economic and cultural effects, but inaccurate spelling and word choice are noticeable and sometimes make the reader pause. Examples include “crutial,” “econmy,” “Moreocer,” and “wathing”; “all the comedy” is also an imprecise way to describe the range of entertainment. Some phrases are awkward or repetitive, such as “watch all the shows” and “watch anything that they want.” Build accuracy by checking spelling and choosing collocations that fit the meaning, such as “a wide range of programmes” or “boost the economy.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt both simple and complex sentences, including clauses beginning “Although,” “because,” and “which,” so there is some structural variety. The main ideas are generally understandable, but errors in sentence construction and punctuation recur. For example, “Although digital devices provide all the entertainment, I believe…” is a sound complex pattern, while “when people spend time outdoor activities, they engaged…” has problems with the preposition and verb form. Capitalisation after full stops is inconsistent, as in “culture. when people,” and the conclusion begins “Although” with an unnecessary comma. Review verb forms, articles, and sentence boundaries, then proofread for consistent capitalisation. More accurate control of these structures would strengthen the response.
