Student answer (Band 5.5)
With the advncement in technology, everything can be accessed from home to some extent. Internet made technology easily accessible to everyone. In past people goes read newspaper but now they only use mobile phone to get information about every aspect of life at anytime. Everyone has different taste in every aspect of life.
In this digital era, where mobile phone is nothing more than a common thing and people use it for entertainment or other purposes. You can watch anything at anytime at anyplace without distrbance. You can also pause it if you have some important work and variety of things can be accessed just by one click. You can watch your favourite movies, series and dramas just by single tap.
But in this fast moving age, some people still prefer going to cinemas and theatres for entertainment purpose. People believes that you can enjoy more if you see your faviourite movies on big screen and also environment there creat a delima that facinates them. Many countries in world are generating revenue from film making industries so ecenomically it plays an important role. Cultural shows are performed in theatres so you can get information about your culture there. Also at such places, people can meet there favourite actors when a new film release.
I am partially agreed with both because if someone has limited time and he want to spend it, online platforms and if someone has free time then going to cinema is best option because people usually go with thier friends and you can enjoy a lot. Online platforms are budget friendly because wifi or internet is available in everyone's home but revenue generated from cinemas and theaters play an important role in economy of country because many business like stalls and cafes are also associated with them. So everyone one has his own taste to spend t

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address both perspectives and give a personal view, so the response covers the main parts of the task. The benefits of online viewing are illustrated through convenience, choice and the ability to pause, while the case for cinemas and theatres includes employment and revenue, cultural performances, and social enjoyment. Your position—“partially agreed with both”—is present, but the conclusion is cut off and does not clearly resolve which view you ultimately support. Some points, such as meeting actors at film releases and the economic contribution of associated businesses, are relevant but need clearer explanation or a specific example. Develop the comparison more fully and finish with a direct, consistent conclusion to make your argument more complete.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, a paragraph on online entertainment, a paragraph on theatres and cinemas, and a final paragraph giving your view. This helps readers identify the two sides. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes loose, and several ideas are added without showing how they connect. For example, the opening moves from technology to newspapers and then to personal tastes, which does not lead directly into the discussion. Linking phrases such as “But” and “Also” are used, but the connections can feel repetitive or mechanical. The final paragraph combines time, cost, social enjoyment and national revenue in one long sequence, then ends abruptly. Group related points and use clearer transitions and referencing.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “digital era,” “online platforms,” “revenue,” “film making industries,” and “cultural shows.” This gives you enough language to discuss convenience, entertainment and economic effects. However, the range is limited and some word choices or collocations are inaccurate, which can make meaning less precise: “environment there creat a delima” does not clearly express the atmosphere of a cinema, and “for entertainment purpose” is not natural phrasing. Spelling errors such as “advncement,” “faviourite,” and “ecenomically” are also noticeable. Aim to use more precise topic vocabulary and check spelling and common word partnerships; this will make your ideas easier to follow and more convincing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and longer sentence forms, including a conditional contrast in “if someone has limited time” and a sentence explaining that businesses are associated with cinemas. However, control is uneven, and errors in verb forms, agreement, articles and sentence construction sometimes make the reader work to understand the point. Examples include “In past people goes read newspaper,” “People believes,” and “if someone has limited time and he want to spend it, online platforms,” where the verb forms or sentence structure are incomplete. The final sentence also trails off, leaving the thought unfinished. Practise building complete sentences around each main idea, checking subject–verb agreement and tense, and using punctuation to separate connected points.
