Student answer (Band 5.0)
Theatres and cinemas are important part for our economy. Some people say that in the digital age, theatres and cinemas are no longer important because people can watch all the entertainment online. others believe that these two are still important for both economically and culturally. From my perspective both reasons are valid but theatres and cinemas are still essential for country.
Some people believe that theatres and cineas are no longer important the reason is that people should watch all the entertainment material online and cannot go to the cinemas. However smartphones are available in almost every houses and most of the time people watch daily soup, TV news and movies on internet. It is more convenient way to watch movies with family and friends. they do not need to travel to cinema or theatres. they can watch whatever they have freetime.
other people believe that theatres and cinemas are still very important for both economically and culturally beacuse it support drama industry for making more high budge entartainment movies. government should pay for film actors because they are working more focus and enhance their skills. people can go to the cinema and theatres for making more fun and spend quality time with friends and family. Moreover watching movie on cinema can support actors and industry.
despite, growing of online entertainment I believe that cinemas and theatres are still very important because they provide social attraction, making friends and clean and peacfull environment. also they can provide direct source of entarternment industry.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You discuss both views and give a clear overall preference in the introduction and conclusion: you acknowledge online convenience but argue that cinemas and theatres remain essential. However, the reasons are only partly developed. The online-view paragraph mentions convenience and avoiding travel, while the opposing view refers to supporting the industry and spending time with family, but these points need clearer explanation or a specific example. The claim that governments should pay actors is not explained and does not clearly support the economic argument. The response is 236 words, so it is 14 words below the required minimum; this limits the space available to develop your ideas fully. Add relevant detail and examples to address each part more completely.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, and a concluding opinion. This helps the reader identify the main sections. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes unclear, and the final paragraph introduces points such as “social attraction” without explaining how they support your position. Linking is also repetitive or awkward: “Moreover” is useful, but “despite” is not correctly connected to the clause that follows, and several sentences begin with “they” without a clear reference. Use topic sentences that state each paragraph’s main point, then explain and illustrate it. More precise transitions and clearer references would make the argument easier to follow.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “digital age,” “convenient,” “quality time,” and “industry,” so the main ideas are generally understandable. However, the range is limited and several inaccurate word choices or spellings make the writing less clear, such as “daily soup” for television programmes, “high budge” for high-budget, and “direct source of entarternment industry.” Some phrases are also unnatural, including “making more fun” and “social attraction.” Aim to learn topic-specific collocations and check spelling carefully. Choosing precise expressions for economic and cultural benefits will help you explain your ideas more effectively and avoid ambiguity.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple sentences and longer structures, including a contrast introduced by “because” and a sentence beginning “Although” in the conclusion. However, the range is limited, and errors occur frequently enough to make some sentences difficult to read. For example, “Theatres and cinemas are important part” is missing an article, while “it support drama industry” has agreement and article problems. Sentence boundaries and punctuation also need attention: “However smartphones…” should be separated from the preceding sentence, and several sentences begin with lowercase letters. Practise accurate subject–verb agreement, articles, and sentence punctuation, then build longer sentences around one clearly expressed main idea.
