Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You address both sides of the question and state a clear preference in the introduction and conclusion: cinemas offer excitement and employment, while online viewing is convenient and cheaper. These are relevant points, but several are only briefly asserted. For example, the claim that cinemas represent culture is not explained with a specific example, and the economic point lists jobs without showing their wider impact. The discussion of online entertainment is also limited mainly to convenience and price. The response is four words below the required minimum, so it does not meet the task’s length requirement; this leaves little room to develop the ideas. Extend each main point with explanation or a relevant example, and make your position consistently clear.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, and a conclusion. The signposts “On the one hand,” “On the other hand,” and “In conclusion” help readers follow the basic organisation. However, progression within paragraphs is limited, and several ideas are placed next to one another without explaining their connection—for instance, the points about meeting friends, employment, tourism, and cultural representation. Some linking is also awkward, such as “It will also effect the traveller rate,” which does not clearly connect to the preceding claim. Group related ideas and use linking phrases to show cause, contrast, or example, rather than relying mainly on paragraph-opening signposts.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “digital media,” “subscription,” “economically,” and “culturally,” and the reader can generally understand your intended meaning. However, the range is limited and several word choices, forms, and spellings are noticeably inaccurate: “nedded,” “arguinng,” and “significanlly” are misspelled, while “a very cheap rates” and “multiple of jobs” are unnatural expressions. Repetition of “theatres and cinemas” and “people” also makes the writing less flexible. Build a bank of accurate collocations for entertainment and economic impact, and check spelling and word forms carefully. More precise vocabulary would help you express the cultural and employment arguments clearly.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple statements and longer structures, including “whereas theatres and cinemas cannot facilitate in this way,” but the range is limited and complex sentences are often inaccurate. Errors occur frequently in agreement and verb forms: “some people are argue,” “theatres and cinemas has,” and “as its giving.” Articles and plurals are also problematic in “a environment” and “a very cheap rates.” The sentence beginning “If people only watch online” has an unclear construction, and punctuation is inconsistent, including the run-together “rate.Theatres.” These errors sometimes make the reader pause, although the main ideas remain understandable. Practise accurate subject–verb agreement, articles, and sentence boundaries before adding more complex structures.
