Student answer (Band 5.5)
In this era of modern world where you can access everything and anything from anywhere around the globe in a matter of seconds with a device almost the size of one's hand is simply incredible
Clearly this facility provided to people to enjoy consuming internet via watching movies, series, documenteries and so on still there is one fact that these gadgets simply don't provide the joy you have with your friends the resonance that the entire group experiences as a whole and the look they pass to each other is hilarious. So for me it is as clear as the sun that I stand with the view where these places still play a vital role in our daily lives.
There is no doubt about the fact as the techology has advanced the people's mind been shifted as they can access everything from their homes; therefore one may think why would I go all the way from my home to some theatre, cinema for something that I can enjoy at my home while sitting on my couch with a hot coffee in my hand wraped in a sheet. It is simply something that adds up to the reasons why the importance of these places now hold less value; Moreover lets not forget the traffic on the way which really is a and lets not forget it's a dream come true moment for an introvert.
The fact that many individuals including me still believe that these places still hold high values have stronger claim as these places aren't something where you consume internet movies, documenteries but these are the places where you create life long memories with your homies, friends, colleagues, etc. These places help us connect as a society where we can feel the emotions of those around us. Also these places play a key role in running societies from buying the tickets online to stop for meals and desserts on your way back to home
In the end, the relatability is priceless and a non-negotiable. Humans are social animals they do need these places to enjoy, feel calmed, relaxed every once in a while.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You give a clear personal view that theatres and cinemas remain important, and you address both sides by explaining the convenience of home viewing and the social value of shared experiences. The examples of watching from a couch and making memories with friends are relevant. However, the discussion is uneven: the case for online entertainment is mostly a list of conveniences, while the claim that venues matter economically is only briefly suggested through ticket purchases and stops for food. Cultural and economic importance would be clearer with specific explanation or an example, such as local employment or support for film production. Develop each side more fully and make the economic point explicit to strengthen the response.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable overall structure: an opening position, a paragraph about home viewing, a paragraph supporting venues, and a concluding statement. Linking expressions such as “therefore,” “Also,” and “In the end” help signal relationships between ideas. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes difficult to follow because several points are joined into long sentences, and the second paragraph repeats “let’s not forget” without developing a clear sequence. The incomplete phrase after “which really is a” also interrupts the flow. Use clearer topic sentences, separate distinct reasons into sentences, and connect each example directly to the point it supports.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use a range of relevant vocabulary, including “access,” “vital role,” “connect as a society,” and “life long memories,” which helps communicate your position and some social implications. There are also attempts at expressive language, such as “as clear as the sun.” However, several choices are inaccurate or informal for an academic discussion: “consuming internet,” “hold high values,” and “homies” are not natural in this context. Spelling errors such as “documenteries,” “techology,” and “wraped” are noticeable, and some wording is repetitive. Aim for precise collocations and a consistently formal register, while checking spelling and avoiding repeated phrases.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt complex sentences and use clauses to explain reasons, for example the sentence beginning “There is no doubt about the fact…” and the contrast introduced by “but.” However, control is inconsistent, and errors sometimes make the reader work to understand the meaning. The opening is a sentence fragment, while “the people's mind been shifted” lacks a correctly formed verb phrase. Other problems include “these places still hold high values have stronger claim,” where the clause structure and article use are unclear, and long sentences that need stronger punctuation. Practise building accurate subject–verb structures and dividing complex ideas into complete sentences; this will make your range easier to follow.
