Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0

You identify both sides of the discussion and give a personal view, so the response is relevant to the topic. However, the task is addressed only minimally: the online-entertainment argument is reduced to naming TikTok and Instagram, while the cultural and economic importance of cinemas is not clearly explained. Your opinion that cinemas are important is present, but the reason that they help people learn “about everything” is vague and does not establish their importance. The response also does not meet the required minimum of 250 words; at 147 words, it is 103 words short. Develop each view with a clear reason and a specific example, then explain your own position more fully.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

There is a basic attempt to organise the response into an introduction, two discussion paragraphs and a conclusion, and signposts such as “To commence with” and “in my opinion” help indicate the intended structure. However, the ideas do not progress clearly within the paragraphs: the point about people being busy is not connected to the claim that movie content lacks value, and the final paragraph repeats the view that cinemas are important without drawing the discussion together. Some linking phrases, including “paradoxically,” do not express the relationship between the ideas accurately. Use one focused main idea per paragraph, connect each explanation to its claim, and use simpler, more precise transitions.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

You attempt topic-related vocabulary, including “historical value,” “culture” and “economically,” and mention familiar online platforms to illustrate digital entertainment. However, the range is basic and several word choices or forms make the meaning unclear, such as “online cinema showed historical value,” “movies content” and “cinema wolds.” Spelling errors such as “valueable,” “hitorical” and “opnion” also reduce accuracy. Aim for precise phrases that express the task’s key ideas, such as the convenience of streaming, cinema’s cultural role, or its contribution to local employment. Check spelling and use a dictionary to confirm collocations and word forms before submitting.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

The response uses mostly short, simple statements, with a few attempts to connect ideas using “because” and “so.” These attempts show some awareness of complex sentences, but control is inconsistent. For example, “technology has change” has an incorrect verb form, “individuals wants” has subject–verb disagreement, and “they not dont intrested” lacks a correctly formed verb phrase. Articles and plurals are also unreliable in phrases such as “cinema are” and “in easiest way.” Sentence boundaries and spacing around punctuation need attention as well. Practise accurate simple sentences first, then build longer sentences with one clear subordinate clause and check agreement, verb forms and articles.
