Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0

You present a clear opinion in the conclusion: you believe theatres are no longer important because people can watch entertainment online. You also mention both views, including online access and the economic value of cinemas. However, the discussion is minimal and does not fully address the cultural importance raised in the prompt; “a lot of happiness” is not explained or supported with an example. The economic point is also repeated rather than developed. The response contains 236 words, below the required 250, and the 30 words copied from the task prompt were not counted. To strengthen the response, explain each side with specific reasons or examples, address both economic and cultural value, and make your opinion consistent throughout.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0

The response has a basic overall structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs signalled by “Firstly” and “Secondly,” and a conclusion. These markers help the reader identify the two viewpoints. However, ideas within the first body paragraph are loosely connected and repetitive: the points about phones, the internet, and televisions are listed without a clear progression or explanation of how they support the argument. The conclusion also introduces the internet and technology again rather than drawing together the discussion. Some linking expressions, such as “therefore,” do not clearly show the relationship between the ideas. Organise each paragraph around one main point, explain it, and use clear references and transitions to connect supporting details.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

You use a small set of relevant topic words, including “theatres,” “cinemas,” “economically,” “culturally,” “internet,” and “source of income,” so the general subject is understandable. However, vocabulary is basic and frequently repeated, especially “important,” “people,” “watch,” and “move.” Several word choices or collocations are unclear, such as “waste our time to watch any move into the theatres” and “watch move into the mobile phone.” These make some ideas difficult to interpret. Build a wider range of accurate expressions for entertainment and its effects, such as “stream films,” “provide employment,” or “preserve cultural experiences.” Check spelling and word forms as well, and avoid repeating the same general terms when a more precise phrase is available.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

You attempt both simple statements and longer sentences, including clauses introduced by “because” and “therefore.” This shows some effort to connect reasons, and the main viewpoint can usually be understood. However, sentence patterns are limited, and errors occur frequently in agreement, articles, plurals, and sentence construction. Examples include “there are no any need,” “every homes has a tv,” and “theatres and cinemas are the very important.” Some sentences also combine several ideas without clear grammatical control, as in the first body paragraph. Practise accurate basic sentence forms first, then add subordinate clauses. Pay particular attention to singular and plural agreement, article use, and punctuation between connected clauses.
