Student answer (Band 4.5)
Nowadays, technology is increasing rapidly. Many things hanve changed than before. Some individuals thing that in the modern age, theatres and cinemas are no longer important as people can watch all types of things on onlion while several argue that theatres and cinemas are still crucial. From my perspective, Theatres and cinemas are important for us. I shall discuss both views.
First of all, theatres andc cinemas are extremely important for us because many people especically older they do not have mobile phone and they do not watch all the entertainment. For instance, A older man can not use the mobile phones because he do not know much about of mobile phone. Morover, theatres and cinemas should be constructed so that older people would go to cinema and theatres and watch movies and dramas.
On the other hand, there are some disadvantges of theatres and cinemas. Firslty, they can afected our generation especically younger generation. For example, When children go to cinemas and theatres they watch all the entertainment. they can be effected mentally health of children because children do not too much use at home because they do work all day. Furthermore, mobile phones can also effect on children health but they do also use of mobile phones for study purpose. From my perspective, theatres and cinemas should be only open for older.
To sum up, both have prons and cons. theatres and cinemas should be only open for older so that children can enter in theatres and cinemas. They can use mobile phone.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0
You state a clear opinion that theatres and cinemas remain important, and you attempt to discuss both sides. However, the response only minimally addresses the task: the case for online entertainment is not explained, while the points about older people and children do not adequately discuss the venues’ economic or cultural importance. The claim that cinemas should be “only open for older” is also not supported and conflicts with the idea that they are important generally. Examples are brief and some reasoning is unclear. The response contains 242 words, so it is 8 words below the 250-word minimum; 13 words copied from the prompt were not counted. To improve, explain each view directly, develop relevant reasons and examples, and make your final position consistent.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5
The response has a basic overall structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs signalled by “First of all” and “On the other hand,” and a conclusion beginning “To sum up.” These markers help readers identify the intended stages of the discussion. However, progression within the paragraphs is difficult to follow because ideas are repeated or connected unclearly. For example, the point about children’s health shifts to their use of phones for study without showing how this supports the argument about cinemas. The conclusion repeats the recommendation that venues be open only to older people rather than bringing the two views together. Use one clear main idea per paragraph, explain the link between each example and that idea, and use pronouns and transitions more precisely.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
You use some task-related vocabulary, including “digital age,” “entertainment,” “generation,” and “study purpose,” so the topic is generally identifiable. However, the range is basic and repetitive, with “theatres and cinemas” and “important” used frequently. Several spelling and word-choice errors make the writing less clear, such as “hanve,” “onlion,” “especically,” and “prons and cons.” Some phrases are also unnatural, including “they do not too much use at home” and “effect on children health.” Build a more precise range for discussing access, cultural value, and economic benefits, and check spelling and collocations. This would help you express the task’s key ideas more clearly and avoid relying on repeated general terms.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
You attempt a few different sentence patterns, including a reason clause with “because” and a purpose clause with “so that.” However, sentence structures are mostly simple, and errors occur frequently in agreement, articles, verb forms, and sentence boundaries. For example, “A older man … he do not know” has article and agreement problems, while “they can be effected mentally health of children” does not form a clear grammatical clause. The sentence beginning “When children go…” is followed by a lower-case “they,” creating a punctuation and sentence-boundary error. Practise accurate subject–verb agreement, articles, and complete clauses before adding more complex structures. Proofreading each sentence for a clear subject and verb will improve readability.
