Student answer (Band 5.5)
There is an ongoing debate about whether cinemas will continue to have a significant impact on people's entertainment or in future public will no longer use the cinemas for their entertainment purpose. This essay will discuss both the perspectives before explaining why I support the above view.
On the one hand, online platforms such as Netflix, JioHotstar are the some famous online apps where people can watch movies and web series by paying a fixed amount. These platforms provide unlimited access of movies to public and they also provide a feature of pause and play. For example, if a person got an emergency while watching a movie then he can simply pause the movie and can play after completing his work.
On the other hand, watching movies at home might be interesting but they can not provide expericence like cinemas beacause now a days movies are specially made for cinemas purpose in which they IMAX, 4K, 8K cameras during filming. Whereas people still love to go to cinemas when ever they get their leisure time and cinema also provide a surrounded audio which creates a feeling that they are in the movie. People can also watch movies in 2D, 3D, 4D in cinemas. Therefore, cinemas will continue have a significant impact on the people's life.
In conclusion, watching movies at home might give a good experience and different other features to the user but it can not create the experience like cinemas. I believe that cinemas will continue to have a greater impact in entertainment.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You address both views and state a clear preference for cinemas, especially in the introduction and conclusion. The discussion of online viewing includes relevant benefits such as pausing a film and watching at home, while the cinema paragraph gives reasons involving large-format visuals and immersive sound. However, the two sides are not developed equally: the online argument is mostly a list of platform features, and the claim that films are specially made for cinemas is not explained or supported. The response also focuses mainly on the viewing experience, with little discussion of the task’s economic and cultural importance of cinemas. Develop these dimensions with specific examples and explain how each reason supports your position more fully.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The essay has a clear overall structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, and a conclusion. The signposts “On the one hand,” “On the other hand,” and “In conclusion” make the progression easy to follow. Some links between ideas are less smooth or precise, however. For example, “Whereas people still love to go to cinemas” does not clearly contrast with the preceding point, and “Therefore” introduces a conclusion that is not fully established by the preceding claims. The introduction’s reference to “the above view” is also unclear because the two positions have not yet been identified. Use more precise referencing and connect each example explicitly to the paragraph’s main point.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “online platforms,” “web series,” “leisure time,” and “surrounded audio,” and the meaning is generally understandable. There is some attempt to use more specific language, such as “unlimited access” and “significant impact,” but several word choices and collocations are inaccurate or repetitive. Examples include “entertainment purpose,” “experience like cinemas,” and “a surrounded audio”; these make parts of the argument sound unnatural. Spelling errors such as “expericence” and “beacause” also reduce accuracy. Build a wider set of natural expressions for comparing home streaming with cinema-going, and check spelling and collocation carefully.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and complex sentences, including conditional structures such as “if a person got an emergency while watching a movie then he can simply pause the movie.” The main ideas remain understandable, but errors occur in verb forms, agreement, articles, and sentence construction. For instance, “cinemas will continue have” needs an infinitive marker, and “cinema also provide” has a subject–verb agreement error. In “they can not provide expericence,” the pronoun reference is unclear and the noun needs an article. Some long sentences also combine several ideas without clear grammatical control. Practise accurate conditional forms and agreement, and proofread each sentence for complete, well-formed clauses.
