Student answer (Band 5.0)

Some people think that theaters and cinemas are not important in digital age ,it is because they think that people can watch all the entertainments online.According their views people can watch movies ,dramas on the television. In nowadays people can use their own mobile phone to watch all types of entertainment. These people can use internet to watch what they want .So, accordind to their openion cenima and theatres are not importantan to entertain the people .

However some people think that cenima and theatres are still important to watch any type of entertainment .According to these people openions ,using cenima and theatres are beneficial to both economic and culture. In cenima and theatres people can watch any type of entertainment by sitting togetter .They can enjoy every moment in this way. By using cenima and theatres they can entertain each other.People are bound to watch movies ,dramas and any other type entertainment by sitting in theathre room.So they do not leave the room until the completion of entertainment.

As far as my openion also concerned ,so according to my openion cenimas and theatres are important. It is because when people come to theatre rooms they communicate with each other and are also aware of their fellows. On the other hand the people who uses mobile phones ,laptops and many other things like that ,they are actually become dependent of these thins. In this way they waste their many of time in useless activities. They also have less communication with other people .Many people use online materials for doing unnecessary things.I think so , that people should use cenima and theatres because by usinf these things they can save their time and they can also better their relations with other people. In this modern era people should take care of their fellows and all the people living around them.I t is very important to serve humanity but people can not give their time to other people because they are becoming dependent of online resources like internet , mobile phones .

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You address both views and state your own position clearly: you explain that online entertainment is convenient, then argue that cinemas and theatres encourage shared experiences and communication. This covers the main parts of the question. However, the discussion is only partly developed. The first view is mostly a list of ways people watch entertainment online, while the economic and cultural importance mentioned in the prompt is not explained with specific reasons or examples. Your own argument also shifts towards concerns about mobile-phone dependence and wasted time, which are relevant but do not fully establish why theatres matter economically or culturally. Develop each side with a clear supporting example, such as employment and local business benefits or the value of live performance and shared cultural experiences.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable overall structure: one paragraph presents the online-entertainment view, another presents the opposing view, and a final paragraph gives your opinion. Basic linking expressions such as “However” and “On the other hand” help signal contrast. However, progression within paragraphs is often repetitive: several sentences repeat that people can watch entertainment online or gather in theatres without adding a new point. Connect each reason to its consequence more clearly, and use paragraphing to separate the discussion of economic and cultural value from your personal opinion. Some links, including “As far as my opinion also concerned, so,” are awkward and make the relationship between ideas harder to follow. More precise referencing and fewer repeated transitions would make the argument easier to track.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the general subject, including “digital age,” “entertainment,” “dependent,” and “communication.” However, the range is limited and several words or phrases are repeated, especially “people,” “use,” “important,” and “entertainment.” There are also frequent spelling and word-choice problems, such as “cenima,” “openion,” “thins,” and “usinf,” which can distract the reader. Some combinations are unnatural, for example “better their relations” and “waste their many of time.” Aim for accurate, natural collocations and more precise terms for the task, such as “audience,” “shared experience,” “cultural venue,” and “employment.” Proofreading spelling and avoiding repeated general words would improve clarity.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple sentences and longer structures, including contrast and reason clauses, as in “On the other hand…” and “It is because…”. This shows some effort to vary sentence forms. However, errors are frequent, and complex sentences are often difficult to control. Examples include “people who uses mobile phones,” where the subject and verb do not agree, and “they are actually become dependent,” which has an incorrect verb construction. Articles and sentence boundaries are also inconsistent, as in “in digital age” and the opening sentence, where a comma joins two independent clauses. Practise building accurate subject–verb patterns and separating complete sentences with full stops. Once these basic forms are more reliable, add complex clauses while checking that each sentence remains grammatically complete.
