Student answer (Band 6.0)
Many people think that there is no need for cinemas and theatres because individuals can watch all type of entertainment online in this digital era. However, some people believe that cinemas and theatres are still important to show culture and also in terms of business. In this essay, i am going to discuss both point of view and share my opinion in detail.
On the one side, nowadays it is relatively more convinient to watch movies or any other source of entertainment using internet because it can also be very flexible. For instance, whenever an individual got time and want to recharge he can instantly visit social platforms like youtube, netflix and can watch his favourties. Moreover it is very cost effective, a very less amount of money is required for such websites subscription and hundreds of movies from different genres are available.
On the other side, ambaince of cinemas and theatre vibe can not be replaceable also sometimes latest movies were no released on social platforms and people have to visit cinemas. Moreover, theatres are still used to represent the culture. stage artists need to connect physically with the audience and through such performances, public can gave feeback directly and admire them for their hard work and efforts. Moreover, these places are still beneficial to contribute financially to the economy so management should revise their polices to attract people and make such places more accessible and affordable to its public.
As per my opinion, I feel it really convinient to get entertained anytime and at any place in less amount of money. However, I choose to visit cinema rarely as a source of family outings.there we choose movies that are educational and moral for all of us and then we can discuss movie.
In conclusion, cinemas are still important but less in use due to large variety of entertainment accessible in low price online and people find it more convinient to avail digital facility more often. However, authorities should plan and revise their strategies to keep the cinamas alive.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address both views and give a personal position: online entertainment is convenient and inexpensive, while cinemas and theatres offer a shared experience, cultural value, and economic benefits. The family-outing example also helps make your preference more personal. However, the two sides are not developed equally. The online argument is supported with flexibility and subscription costs, whereas the economic importance of venues is only asserted, without explaining how they support jobs or local businesses. Your opinion is present, but it could be stated more decisively and linked more clearly to the discussion—for example, explain why occasional cinema visits remain worthwhile despite online convenience. This gives the response relevant coverage of the task, with some ideas needing fuller explanation.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, your opinion, and a conclusion. Signposts such as “On the one side,” “On the other side,” and “In conclusion” make the progression easy to follow, and the main points are generally grouped appropriately. This meets the lower-band expectations securely and shows some features of stronger organisation. However, linking is sometimes mechanical, particularly the repeated use of “Moreover,” and the relationship between points is not always made explicit. The opinion paragraph largely repeats the convenience argument rather than developing how it relates to the preceding discussion. Use a wider range of natural transitions and connect examples directly to the claims they support.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “subscription,” “genres,” “stage artists,” “audience,” and “economy.” There are also attempts at more specific expressions, such as “family outings” and “represent the culture.” However, the range is limited in places, and several inaccurate or unnatural choices reduce precision: “all type of entertainment,” “cinemas and theatre vibe,” and “contribute financially to the economy.” Spelling errors such as “convinient,” “ambaince,” and “cinamas” are noticeable. These do not prevent the reader from understanding the overall argument, but they show that word choice and spelling are not yet consistently controlled. Build a bank of accurate collocations for discussing cultural venues and their economic effects.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including a reason clause in “because individuals can watch…” and a relative clause in “movies that are educational and moral.” The overall meaning is usually clear, but some errors occur in verb forms, agreement, articles, and sentence construction. For example, “whenever an individual got time and want” shifts tense and does not maintain agreement; “public can gave” uses an incorrect verb form; and “latest movies were no released” has an inaccurate passive construction. Capitalisation and punctuation also need attention, as in “i” and “outings.there.” These issues rarely obscure your message, but proofreading and practising accurate complex clauses would improve control.
