Student answer (Band 5.0)
As we are living in the era of technology, everything is being modernized and being replaced by a newer and better version of it. Now people have choices ,they have cheaper and old option on the oher hand they have modern and expensive options. As talking of technoogy the biggest and in my opinion most used invention is mobile phone it has replaced many other devices such as TVs, cameras, speakers, maps and many more. when we think about that and focus on the replacements that mobile phone has done there comes an important source of entertainment for people and that is movies and movie theatres. Many people like movies and they prefer watching movies in there free time or when they want refreshment from their daily boring routine. As in old times and even now people go to cinemas and theatres to watch movies that they like. But now since everyone has their cell phones the number of people has fallen down who go to theatres to watch movies. It is because they have a choice to either stay at home and watch movies on their phone or go to a cinema hall or theatre to enjoy it with acrowd. Some people find it boring and they think they are not important anymore since anyone can watch anything online and we don't need them anymore. People think the are also not vital or that much important in our economy. Since everyone has access to internet they can search anything and they can enjoy it whenever and however they want. To some extent this point is right and many people do that. But' there are some people who must not agree with that it could be because they prefer bigscreens and watching something entertaining with a crowd. Some poeple think that theatres are still important in our economy they still play a role and the people who support this idea may also have their own justifications for it and that is also true . The bussines that a movie earns or does in cinema also plays role in economy.these both arguments are right upto an extent.
In my opinion, that in future as we are developing continuesly world is changing very fastly we can loose theatres and cinemas since the culture of subscription is spreading on a vast scale and platforms like Netflix, Amazon Prime etc are getting more recoganition around the globe so it is changing the theatre culture and people are promoting this.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5
You address both views and give a personal position: you explain that online platforms offer convenient access, while cinemas provide a shared viewing experience and contribute to the economy. However, the discussion is only minimally developed. The economic point is asserted in “the business that a movie earns or does in cinema also plays role in economy,” without explaining how cinemas support jobs, businesses, or local income. Cultural importance is also barely explored, despite being central to the prompt. Your opinion that theatres may disappear is clear near the end, but it is not fully reconciled with your earlier acknowledgement that they remain valuable. Develop each side with specific reasons or examples, and state your position more consistently.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5
There is a basic overall sequence: you introduce technological change, discuss online viewing and cinema attendance, then give your opinion. The contrast between staying home and enjoying a film “with a crowd” helps connect the two views. However, most of the response is presented as one very long paragraph, so the main stages of the argument are difficult to distinguish. Ideas also repeat, particularly that people can watch anything online and that cinemas may no longer be important. Linking phrases such as “But” and “To some extent” are used, but connections between claims are sometimes unclear. Use separate paragraphs for the introduction, each viewpoint, and your conclusion, and make each paragraph develop one main idea.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “entertainment,” “cinemas,” “subscription,” and “platforms like Netflix, Amazon Prime.” These terms make the subject clear, and you attempt to express ideas about technological change and audience preferences. However, the range is limited and several phrases are imprecise or repetitive, such as “important,” “people think,” and “watch movies.” Some word choices and collocations make the meaning less natural, for example “the business that a movie earns” and “the culture of subscription.” Spelling errors such as “technoogy,” “poeple,” and “recoganition” are also noticeable. Build a wider set of precise expressions for economic and cultural effects, and check spelling and collocations.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt some longer sentences and use basic contrast and reason structures, for example “It is because they have a choice to either stay at home … or go to a cinema hall.” This shows an effort to connect ideas rather than relying only on short statements. However, complex sentences are often faulty or difficult to follow, and sentence boundaries are frequently unclear. For instance, “As we are living in the era of technology, everything is being modernized…” is followed by several ideas joined with commas, while “Some people think the are also not vital” contains an agreement and verb-form problem. There are also inconsistent forms such as “we can loose theatres” and “world is changing.” Practise accurate sentence boundaries, articles, agreement, and verb forms, then proofread each sentence.
