Student answer (Band 5.5)

In the modern era, some people gave priority to watch movies without going outside to their home whereas few people prefer cinemas and theaters as these are crucial for culture and entertainment.

Most significant reason for the choosing the cinemas and theaters they can go outside with your loved ones on weekends it will give them break from your boring schedule. They can enjoy movie with high quality hd screens and clear loud music. Moreover they can eat their favorite food or snacks and they have multiple options for food and beverages. It will be purely family time so they will mentally relax which is crucial for mental health of our society and it’s beneficial for our government it will increase economy of our country by promoting our own culture through movies.

Contrary ,watching movies and entertainments at home is also giving a big relief from stepping out from your comfort zone. People can order their favorite snack in which they are really into it.They can lay on their bed and enjoy without doing any physical activity it save their energy for their weekdays. This activity is budget friendly as you are spending on petrol ,expensive restaurants or theaters and gives you privacy as a couple. It saves their time so they can do their other work by staying at home.

In my perspective both choices has its own pros and cons so its depends upon totally on people priority and their mood or whatever suits their budget of the month.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You discuss both options and give a personal view, so the response is relevant to the task. The cinema paragraph offers reasons such as spending time with loved ones, enjoying a large screen, and supporting the economy; the home-viewing paragraph mentions convenience, privacy, and lower costs. However, the task specifically asks whether cinemas remain important economically and culturally, and the cultural point is only briefly asserted through “promoting our own culture through movies.” The economic claim is also not explained beyond saying it will “increase economy.” Your final view that both choices have advantages is clear but does not fully resolve which role cinemas still play. Develop these central claims with specific explanations or examples and state your position more decisively throughout.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a basic, recognisable structure: an introduction, one paragraph for cinema-going, one for watching at home, and a concluding opinion. This helps the reader follow the two sides. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes loose: the cinema paragraph moves from family outings to food, mental health, and the national economy without clearly linking these points. Connectors such as “Moreover” and “Contrary” are used, but the latter does not form a natural transition, and several ideas are joined in long, crowded sentences. The conclusion repeats that both options have pros and cons rather than drawing the discussion together. Use clearer topic sentences, organise each paragraph around one main argument, and make links between claims explicit.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “budget friendly,” “privacy,” “beverages,” and “economy.” There are also attempts to express less familiar ideas, such as “promoting our own culture.” However, vocabulary is often repetitive or imprecise, with frequent reliance on “people,” “enjoy,” and “favorite,” and some combinations sound unnatural, such as “gave priority to watch movies” and “clear loud music.” “Entertainment” is also used awkwardly in “watching movies and entertainments.” These choices sometimes make the intended meaning less smooth, although the overall message remains understandable. Build a wider range of accurate collocations for discussing cultural value, economic impact, convenience, and shared experiences.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and longer sentence forms, including a reason clause in “as these are crucial for culture and entertainment” and a contrast between cinema-going and home viewing. However, control is inconsistent, and errors occur frequently enough to make some sentences difficult to follow. For example, “Most significant reason … they can go outside” lacks a clear grammatical connection, while “both choices has” has incorrect subject–verb agreement. There are also problems with articles, verb forms, and sentence boundaries, as in “it save their energy” and the run-on sequence “schedule. They can enjoy.” Practise building complete sentences with clear subjects and verbs, checking agreement and punctuation, and using subordinate clauses accurately.
