Student answer (Band 6.0)
Although sttreaming digital content at home allows people to consume entertainment online,Opinions are divided whether physical picturehouses and threaters are outdated or still serve its purpose. In my opinion ,while the online paltforms provide unmatched comfort,Physical venues tend to play an important role in maintaining economy and preserving the culture.
The online streaming platform has also changed the whole experince of watching,People can watch their favourite show on demand just by sitting in their bedroom .They can watch their favourite shows or movies at anytime anywhere, whenever tehy want by buying a subscription of any platform such as Netflix, primevideo etc, therfore avoiding large ticket ques. The online watching also allows users to set prefrences or selcet whatever genre they want to watch ,allowing them to slect from a large pool of content while the traditional cinemas doesnot offer this facility.
The traditional cinemas and threaters offers a realtime experience which is not available on online platforms, they act to promote the culture through different plays and serve as shared place for cultural events. While the online platform offers greater options the cinemas and threater are of great economic value they generate revenue through different movies, dramas and by selling food, when people comes to watch movies they also buy food, dine and eat as well thus supporting a whole ecosystem.Another benifit is creating various jobs such as staff projectionist, artists etc and thus promoting tourism.
While the online watching can provide better options and comfort it cannot fully replace the value of cinemas and thretaer due to both cultural and economic aspects.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
You address both sides of the discussion and state a clear opinion: online platforms offer comfort, but physical venues remain important economically and culturally. The online-view paragraph gives relevant benefits, including on-demand viewing, choice and avoiding queues; the other side mentions cultural events, revenue, food sales, jobs and tourism. This covers the task well, with some elements already showing the development expected at a stronger level. However, several points are asserted rather than explained. For example, the claim that venues preserve culture would be more convincing with a specific example of a play, local tradition or community event. The economic argument also lists benefits without showing how they support the wider economy. Develop these links and support them with concrete examples to make the discussion more consistently persuasive.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall shape: an introduction, a paragraph on online entertainment, a paragraph on physical venues, and a concluding opinion. The contrast between the two views is easy to follow, and phrases such as “while” and “another benefit” help signal relationships between ideas. This gives the essay a coherent progression. At times, however, sentences contain several points joined by commas, so the links feel crowded rather than controlled. The second body paragraph moves from cultural events to revenue, food and jobs without clearly separating these supporting ideas. Use full stops to manage sentence boundaries, and organise each paragraph around a main point followed by explanation or an example. More precise referencing would also help readers track what “they” refers to in places.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “on demand,” “subscription,” “cultural events,” “generate revenue” and “ecosystem.” These choices show an attempt to discuss both the practical appeal of streaming and the wider role of venues. However, the range is uneven, and noticeable spelling errors and imprecise collocations reduce clarity and control. Examples include “sttreaming,” “threaters,” “experince,” “prefrences” and “benifit.” Some phrases are also awkward, such as “serve as shared place” and “promoting the culture.” Aim for accurate spelling and more natural combinations, such as “serve as shared spaces” and “preserve cultural traditions.” This would make your vocabulary more precise and fluent while retaining the relevant ideas.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including a concession in “Although …” and a contrast in “while the online platform offers greater options.” These structures help express the two sides of the issue. However, control is inconsistent: some sentences combine multiple clauses without clear punctuation, and there are recurring problems with agreement, articles and sentence boundaries. For example, “the traditional cinemas doesnot offer” has a plural subject with a singular verb, while “serve as shared place” needs an article. In “when people comes to watch movies they also buy food,” the verb does not agree with the plural subject, and a comma is needed after the introductory clause. Practise checking each sentence for a clear subject and verb, correct agreement, and appropriate punctuation.
