Student answer (Band 5.5)
Nowadays people may believe entertainment they want online. However, some people argue on economy level and also relate to the culture, theatres and cinemas are still important. I discuss both the view and give my opion in my upcoming paragraph.
On the one hand, online entertainment has become very popular it's convenient and affordable. People can watch tv shows and programs on the platform such as youtube, Netflix. People can watch anytime anywhere, jusy need to internet connection. They do not spend time on money to the expensive tickets and travels. Moreover, on the online platform people cam watch their favourite contents on the anywhere with pay the money. This is benfit to the people they have not a lots of free time.
On the other hand, theatres and cinemas are still important for economic and cultural reasons. Firstly, they provide employment opportunities for actors, directors, technicians, and many other workers. They also generate income for businesses, including restaurants and shopping centres near cinemas. Secondly, watching a movie on a big screen with high-quality sound creates a unique experience that cannot be fully enjoyed at home. Cinemas also bring people together and help them share different cultural experiences.
In my opinion, although online entertainment is convenient, theatres and cinemas should not disappear. Both options have their own advantages, and people should be able to enjoy them according to their preferences. Cinemas offer a special atmosphere, while online platforms provide flexibility and comfort.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You address both sides of the discussion and give a clear opinion that cinemas should not disappear, supported by relevant points about convenience, employment, local businesses, and the shared viewing experience. However, the two views are not developed equally: the online-entertainment paragraph mainly lists convenience and cost, while the economic and cultural arguments receive more specific explanation. The opening also says you will discuss the views rather than introducing the main arguments. The response is 8 words below the required minimum, so it does not fully meet the task’s length requirement; use the extra space to explain or illustrate your points rather than simply adding filler. Developing the online view and supporting your claims with a concrete example would make the response more complete.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a coherent overall arrangement: an introduction, a paragraph for each view, and a conclusion stating your position. The signposts “On the one hand,” “On the other hand,” and “In my opinion” make the progression easy to follow. Some connections within paragraphs are less smooth, however. In the online paragraph, the points about watching anywhere and flexibility repeat one another, and “Moreover” introduces a similar benefit rather than a clearly new idea. The opening sentence is also difficult to follow, which weakens the introduction’s role in guiding the reader. Organise each body paragraph around distinct points and connect each explanation directly to its supporting detail; this would make cohesion less repetitive and more natural.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “employment opportunities,” “high-quality sound,” “cultural experiences,” and “flexibility.” There is also some useful variation in describing the benefits of online viewing and cinemas. However, several word-choice, spelling, and collocation errors make parts of the first half less clear, such as “argue on economy level,” “people cam watch,” “contents,” and “This is benfit.” Some expressions are also repetitive, particularly “people can watch.” Aim for accurate, natural combinations and check spelling carefully. For example, use “for economic reasons” and “content” in the relevant contexts, and vary repeated wording with phrases such as “viewers can access” or “audiences can enjoy.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You use a mixture of short statements and longer sentences, and several sentences in the cinema paragraph are grammatically clear, such as “They also generate income for businesses” and “Cinemas offer a special atmosphere.” However, some sentence structures and grammatical patterns are faulty, especially in the opening and online-entertainment paragraph. “Nowadays people may believe entertainment they want online” lacks a complete, clear structure, while “People can watch anytime anywhere, jusy need to internet connection” omits necessary grammatical elements. The sentence beginning “Moreover” also has an unclear construction. Practise building complete clauses, using articles and prepositions accurately, and joining ideas with controlled complex sentences. Proofreading for punctuation and sentence boundaries will help make your meaning consistently clear.
