Student answer (Band 5.5)

Nowadays, a number of people asserted the opinion that in the modern age, people are more intrested to watch all the entertainment from the online rather than theaters and cinemas. Whereas, Some people argue that theaters and cinemas are still essential for economically and culturally. I firmly believe, people should take entertainment from online insted of traditional way.

On the one hand, entertainment is an important redical thing in human life. In this digital age, there are many technology have invented, and by using those tools people can full fill their demand of entertainment. For instance, by using internet everyone can watch movies or theaters on their smrat phone or laptop indeed. In addition, watching from online, the entertainment also less time consuming as well as affordable cost. If a person wants to watch a new cinema, he can see from online by spending a few megabites, and it may watch from any kind of place that he wants.

In contrast, there are also some benefical thing of theaters and cinemas. Theaters and cinemas are traditional way of enetertainment which are very significant for peserving the culture of a nation. In addition, It also can rise the government earning. For example, if theaters or cinemas are held, government can earn a handsome amount of fee from that and it helps to improve their economy as well as the cultural heritage could be preserved.

In conclusion, Thow there are a lot of pors and cons of watching theaters and cinemas for entertainment, but it can not outweigh the advanatges of the online entertainment.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You address both views and state a clear preference for online entertainment in the introduction and conclusion. Relevant points include online viewing being convenient and affordable, and venues supporting cultural preservation and government income. However, the discussion is only partly developed: the economic point is asserted rather than explained, and the cultural argument would benefit from a specific example of how a theatre or cinema preserves local culture. Your position also needs clearer reasoning; the conclusion says online advantages outweigh those of venues, but the essay does not directly compare the two sides or explain why your preference is stronger. Develop each main point with a fuller explanation or a concrete example.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, and a conclusion. The signposts “On the one hand” and “In contrast” help readers follow the shift between perspectives, and examples are placed alongside relevant claims. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes unclear, and linking is rather mechanical, with repeated “In addition.” Some references are also difficult to follow, such as “it may watch from any kind of place,” where the subject is unclear. The conclusion introduces no new support and repeats the general contrast. Use clearer topic sentences, vary linking methods, and connect each example explicitly to the point it supports.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some task-relevant vocabulary, including “digital age,” “affordable,” “government earning,” and “cultural heritage,” so the main ideas can be understood. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate, sometimes making the meaning less clear. Examples include “important redical thing,” “full fill their demand,” and “rise the government earning.” There are also frequent spelling errors, such as “intrested,” “smrat,” and “preserving” misspelled as “peserving.” Build accuracy by learning common collocations for entertainment, access, and economic benefits, and proofread spelling. Aim for precise, natural phrases rather than adding uncommon words whose meaning or form is uncertain.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a conditional structure in “If a person wants to watch a new cinema, he can see from online.” The overall meaning is usually recoverable, but grammatical errors are frequent and some sentences are difficult to interpret. For example, “there are many technology have invented” has problems with the verb construction and agreement, while “people can full fill their demand” lacks a clear grammatical pattern. Articles, plurals, and sentence boundaries also need attention, as in “There are also some benefical thing.” Practise building accurate subject–verb–object sentences first, then add subordinate clauses. Check agreement, verb forms, and punctuation when editing.
