Student answer (Band 6.0)
It is often argued that in the era of technological development, theaters and cinemas are loosing their importance because all the entertainment stuff is available online. While others believe that economical and cultural values are the key factors due to which cinemas are still the need of time. In my view, however, promotion of cinemas and theaters is ultimately the best option, primarily because it creates multiple job opportunities for people and also people stay connected to their culture.
On the one hand, proponents of online platforms point to budget and environment friendly impact. Since, commuting to cinemas and theaters decreases significantly, consumption of fuel is reduced, which in turn lowers environmental pollution. Additionally, watching any entertainment program online saves a lot of cost as compared to going to cinemas. For instance, there are multiple online platforms which offer access to variety of programs with minimum amount of subscription. This demonstrates that online platforms are taking over cinemas and theaters.
On the other hand, opponents of online streaming argue that it can not only reduce the job oppurtunities but can also negatively effect cultural values of society. There is large number of population who is connected to these cinemas and theaters for their earnings, like advertisement agencies, different food vendors and riders make there earning whenever a film or program is aired in cinemas.
Despite this, I firmly believe that cinemas and theaters will never loose their importance. Beyond their economical and cultural importance, they act as a place of social gathering of audience and people share their thought with each other. Equally significant, online platforms reduce entertainment cost for viewers, and savings can be reinvested somewhere else.
In conclusion, cinemas are still important despite the fact that onlne platforms also offer same facilities in friendly budget.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address both perspectives and state a clear preference for cinemas and theatres, linking your view to employment, cultural connection, and social gathering. The discussion of online viewing is relevant, with points about lower costs and reduced travel-related pollution. However, the economic and cultural case for venues is less fully explained: the examples of vendors, advertisers, and riders are listed, but the response does not show in detail how these activities support the wider economy or preserve culture. The final point about online savings also sits somewhat awkwardly beside your preference for cinemas. Develop each main reason with a specific example and make the relationship between your supporting points and your position clearer.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, a paragraph for each view, and a conclusion. Signposting such as “On the one hand,” “On the other hand,” and “In conclusion” helps readers follow the discussion. Overall progression is clear, but some connections are mechanical or unclear. For example, “Despite this” introduces your belief in cinemas after a paragraph that already presents their benefits, so the contrast is not precise. The final sentence also repeats the general conclusion without drawing together the reasons discussed. Use transitions that express the exact relationship between ideas, and organise the venue-related arguments so that the economic, cultural, and social points build on one another.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use a relevant range of topic vocabulary, including “online platforms,” “environmental pollution,” “job opportunities,” and “social gathering.” These choices make the main ideas understandable, and there are attempts at more formal phrasing. However, inaccurate word choice, collocation, and spelling reduce precision: “entertainment stuff,” “the need of time,” “friendly budget,” and “make there earning” are not natural in this context. There are also spelling errors such as “loosing,” “oppurtunities,” and “onlne.” Aim for precise, natural combinations rather than translated-sounding phrases, and proofread spelling. For example, “affordable subscription” is more idiomatic than “friendly budget,” while “provide employment” is clearer than “reduce the job opportunities.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt a mix of simple and complex structures, including a conditional-style explanation beginning “Since commuting…” and the contrast “not only reduce … but can also…”. Most ideas remain understandable, but some grammatical errors recur. In “Since, commuting to cinemas…,” the comma is misplaced, and “There is large number of population who is connected” has problems with the article, noun phrase, and agreement. The sentence about vendors and riders also shifts awkwardly between plural subjects and “their earnings.” Review articles, subject–verb agreement, and punctuation around introductory clauses. Breaking the long sentence listing several groups into two sentences would also help you maintain control while preserving a range of structures.
