Student answer (Band 5.0)
The development of digital technology has changed they way people access entertainment. While some people belive that in digital age, theatres and cinemas are no longer important as people can watch all the entertainment they want online. On the other side people argue that theatres and cinemas are still important both economically and culturally.
I totally agreed with the statement that theatres and coinemas are very important in both economy and culture. Theatre and cinemas provide a unique experience that cannot be fully replaced by the online platforms. Watching movies in the big screen is one of the best experience one can ever get. As you can watch movies with you family and friends theatre becomes a suitable place for meeting. As cinema theatre is a big place and need people to maintain it, creating employment opportunities for people. They also preserve cultual traditions by promoting local arts, drama, and music which are valuble for out country.
On the other hand, many people watching films and other froms of entertainment online because it is more convenient and affordable. Streaming servies not just allows watching moves rather televion shows, live events, relevent programs. So, this saves both money and time. While if you want to watch movies in the theatre you have to wait in lines, sometimes duo to some senarios the movies got delayed. As online platforms offers a variety of content, it allows individuals to choose entertainment that suits their personalities.
In my opinion, although people belive that in digital age, theatre and cinemas ae no longer just because they has technological benefit, but theatres and cinemas remain essential as they offer unique cultural experiences, strengthen the economy, along with tradition.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You present a clear overall view that theatres and cinemas remain important, and you give relevant reasons: shared viewing, employment, and support for local arts. You also explain the opposing view through convenience, affordability, and choice, so both sides of the prompt are addressed. However, the discussion is unevenly developed. The online-entertainment points are listed more than explained, while the cultural and economic claims would benefit from a specific example showing their impact. The final sentence repeats your position but is difficult to interpret, particularly the claim that cinemas remain essential “along with tradition.” Make your conclusion a direct summary of why you consider their continuing role important, and extend each main point with a clear explanation or example.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, a paragraph supporting cinemas, a paragraph presenting online entertainment, and a concluding opinion. This helps readers identify the main sections. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes unclear, and several ideas are joined in ways that make their relationship hard to follow. For example, “As cinema theatre is a big place and need people to maintain it” moves abruptly from the social experience to employment, while “So, this saves both money and time” has an unclear reference. Linking phrases such as “On the other hand” are useful, but the argument would be clearer with more precise connections and topic sentences. Organise each paragraph around one central claim and explain how each supporting point relates to it.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “employment opportunities,” “cultural traditions,” “promoting local arts,” and “streaming services.” These phrases show an attempt to discuss both the economic and cultural dimensions rather than relying only on basic terms. However, spelling errors and inaccurate word choices are noticeable and sometimes make the reader pause: examples include “coinemas,” “cultual,” “valuble,” and “froms.” Some expressions are also imprecise, such as “relevant programs” and “suits their personalities.” Aim to check spelling carefully and choose collocations that express your meaning naturally. For instance, you could describe content as “suited to their interests” and refer to “a wide range of programmes.” This would make your ideas more precise and fluent.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt a mixture of simple and more complex sentences, including a contrast with “While” and a concession in the final paragraph. However, errors in sentence construction and verb forms are frequent enough to affect clarity. For example, “I totally agreed” uses an unsuitable tense, and “Streaming servies not just allows” has problems with both sentence structure and subject–verb agreement. The sentence beginning “As you can watch movies with you family” is also awkwardly constructed, and “the movies got delayed” does not fit the general present-tense discussion. Work on forming complete clauses, maintaining consistent present tense for general claims, and checking agreement and articles. Shorter, accurate sentences would help you communicate your points more reliably while you build control of complex forms.
