Student answer (Band 6.0)
Some individuals believe that in this modern era people don't prefer cinemas and theatres instead they watch plays and movies online on social media while others think that venues are crucial for economic and cultural development. Although movie theatres has advantages but I believe that a balance approach is mandatory.
To begin with, online entertainment platforms are convenient. This because you can watch movies and traditional performances from your bedroom anytime and there is no need to go theatres and buy tickets. Furthermore, there are plenty of movies , plays and traditional performances available. Individuals can watch them in their leisure time. It also benefit them by providing necessary knowledge of traditional performances through which they get aware about their culture. Additionally, if the viewers get bored, they can switch to another. This particular feature brings viewer satisfaction. For instance, you can skip unnecessary intervals during the movie and have access to rewind the important part.
In contrast, entertainment venues are significantly important. If this venues stop working many individuals would face economic problems. This is because many peoples like actors , electricians, workers and musical team are part of this industry and they manage their expenses through their salaries. In addition, entertainment platforms are facilitated with large screens which makes the movie more realistic and the viewers pay more attention. These venues are full of crowd which make the movie more enjoyable for audience.
To sum up , both views have strong arguments. I believe that a balanced is mandatory because on the one hand social media is convenient and accessible whereas theatres are more enjoyable and contributes to financial stability of individuals.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address both sides of the discussion and give a position: online viewing is convenient, while venues support employment and offer a more engaging experience. The conclusion also restates your preference for balance. These points are relevant, but some are less fully developed than others. For example, the economic argument names workers who depend on the industry, but does not explain the wider economic contribution of theatres and cinemas. The cultural side is also only briefly covered: you mention traditional performances and cultural awareness in the online paragraph, but do not clearly explain why live venues matter culturally. Develop each view with a specific example and make your own position more precise than simply saying a balance is necessary.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, a paragraph about online entertainment, a contrasting paragraph about venues, and a conclusion. Linking phrases such as “To begin with,” “In contrast,” and “To sum up” make the progression easy to follow. This meets the lower-band expectations securely, and the paragraphing supports the discussion. To make the organisation more flexible and cohesive, connect ideas within paragraphs more explicitly rather than relying mainly on a sequence of additions such as “Furthermore” and “Additionally.” Some references are also unclear, as in “If this venues stop working,” where the reader must infer the intended noun. Ensure each paragraph develops a central point and that pronouns and transitions clearly show how each sentence relates to it.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use a relevant range of topic vocabulary, including “entertainment platforms,” “traditional performances,” “economic problems,” and “cultural development.” This is enough to communicate the main ideas, but control of word choice and collocation is uneven. Phrases such as “a balance approach,” “viewer satisfaction,” and “venues are facilitated with large screens” sound unnatural or do not express the intended meaning precisely. There are also errors in forms and spelling, including “peoples” for people and “theatres has.” Aim for more natural combinations and precise terms when discussing employment, cultural value, and the viewing experience. Replacing general wording with accurate collocations will make your argument clearer and more convincing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including a concession in the opening (“Although…”) and conditional structures such as “If this venues stop working.” Most of the message remains understandable, but some errors in agreement, articles, plurals, and sentence construction reduce accuracy. For example, “movie theatres has advantages” should use a plural verb, while “a balanced is mandatory” is missing the noun after the adjective. In “This because you can watch…,” the sentence needs a complete grammatical structure, such as “This is because…”. Punctuation around commas is also inconsistent. Review subject–verb agreement and check that each sentence has a complete clause; then practise combining ideas without losing grammatical control.
