Student answer (Band 5.5)

Nowadays, people use there living room as home theather to watch movies due to their comfort zone and privacy. However, many prefer to watch movies in theather as it helps boost the econony.Although, in my point of therathres experince are totally un matchable with the experience to watch at online, more points will be discussed below.

As the world being more competitive day by day people often struggle with time management due to which they often miss the opportunity to watch movies in theathres. However, the online streaming has been a game changer for those people who struggled with time. For instance, we can see netflix where we can watch any movies from any time period without too much money being spend which is making it cost efficient compare to a cinema hall, as with the price of one ticket people can buy nefflix, amazon prime or Disney plus which will give them access to almost all the movie around the globe.Hence, a lot of people do not find theathres as excited or important like before as it is very easy and afforable to watch movies.

Although, many still believes that theathres are far usefull than before due to the rate of employment. The market is so competitive that due to a lot goods are being selled. At the same point a lot people ar getting job through that which is helping grow the economy of specific country. Furthermore, many international films use cinemas to stream their movies for international fans, which help their culture to grow internationaly. Moreover, more countries relation evolve due to this. Subsequently, a movie avenger got its release internationally and which helped it earn 3 billion USD , as theatres helped both viewers experince and economically. Hence people still wants the cinemas culture to grow and expand.

All though, both views have their own benefits. But as a individual preference I prefer theatres experince as the joy of watching the movie there is incridible.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You address both sides of the question and give a clear personal preference for theatres in the conclusion. The online-viewing argument is supported with relevant points about convenience, time and the cost of subscriptions compared with a cinema ticket. You also discuss employment and the international reach of films as reasons cinemas matter economically and culturally. However, some ideas are less fully explained: for example, the claim that cinema employment grows a country’s economy needs a clearer link or a specific illustration, and the cultural benefit is asserted rather than explored. The opening also suggests theatres offer an unmatched experience, but this position is not developed until the conclusion. Explain each main point more precisely and support it with a focused example.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for online viewing and cinemas, and a concluding preference. This helps the reader identify the two views. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes difficult to follow, particularly in the cinema paragraph, where employment, goods, international films, relations and a film’s earnings are linked without clear explanation. Connectors such as “Although,” “Hence,” “Furthermore” and “Subsequently” are used often, and some do not express the relationship accurately; “Although” at the start of a sentence, for instance, leaves the contrast incomplete. Use fewer, more precise transitions and make each paragraph develop one central idea in a clear sequence. Clearer referencing would also help readers follow what “that” and “this” refer to.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You attempt vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “streaming,” “cost efficient,” “employment,” “international fans” and “economically.” These choices show an effort to discuss both practical and cultural aspects. However, the range is limited by repeated use of “people,” “movies” and “help,” while frequent spelling and word-choice errors sometimes make the message harder to understand: examples include “theather,” “econony,” “un matchable,” “afforable” and “incridible.” Some combinations are also unnatural, such as “theatres as excited” and “goods are being selled.” Build a bank of accurate topic collocations and check spelling carefully. More precise terms for audience experience, cultural influence and financial contribution would make the argument clearer and more flexible.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including clauses introduced by “Although,” “as” and “which.” This gives the response some structural variety, but complex sentences are often faulty, and errors in agreement, articles, verb forms and punctuation can make ideas difficult to follow. For example, “many still believes” should use a plural verb, while “a lot people ar getting job” needs clearer article and plural forms. The opening also joins contrasting ideas with “Although” without completing the construction, and several sentences run together after full stops without spaces. Practise building shorter, complete sentences first, then add subordinate clauses with accurate punctuation and agreement.
