Student answer (Band 6.0)
Nowadays, It is argued that in the digital world, theatres and cinemas are not as important as they were in the past. Some people think that this is positive, while others believe that it is negative. This essay will discuss the both views befor giving my own opinion.
On the one hand, digital media made people lives more easier. It also brought some positive changes. This means that people can watch their favourite T.V shows and dramas online at any time without any travel or buying tickets. As a result, people seldom go to cinemas to watch shows. For instance, Individuals can watch new movie with their family online without spending any money. It benefits people to save their time and money.
Therefore, it is understanable why some people support this view.
On the other hand, others argue that cinemas and theatres play a crucial role both economically and culturally.
To begin with, economically, it creates million of jobs for people in hotels and restaurants near cinemas. In some countries, their economy still depend on this industry. This money helps government to build better roads, hospitals and airports. Furthermore, culturally, cinemas and theatres play a significant role in maintaining old traditions. Watching shows in theatres is completely a different experience. It promotes country's economy and gives work to domestic artists like actors and singers etc. For example, if we pay more attention to domestic theatres it can give a chance to local actors to perform internationaly and promote their country globally. In my opinion, I completely agree with second view theatres and cinemas are still important both economically and globally.
To sum up, although digital or online media have some benefits. I believe that cinemas and theatres provide job opportunites, support the economy and keep our culture alive. It benefits the individual and society as a whole.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address both views and give a clear opinion, especially when you state that you agree with the view that theatres and cinemas remain important. The response also gives relevant reasons, including convenience and savings from online viewing, alongside employment, economic benefits and cultural preservation. However, the two sides are not developed equally: the online-viewing argument is mostly explained through convenience and one example, while the economic claims about jobs and public services need clearer support. The cultural point about preserving traditions is also asserted rather than illustrated with a specific example. To strengthen the response, explain how these effects occur and connect each example directly to the argument. The length requirement is met; 9 words copied from the task prompt were not counted.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The essay has a clear overall structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, and a conclusion. Signposts such as “On the one hand,” “On the other hand,” and “To sum up” make the progression easy to follow. This coherent arrangement is a strength. However, some linking is mechanical, and a few connections between ideas are unclear. For example, the move from cinemas creating jobs near them to money funding roads and hospitals is not explained, so the relationship between these claims is difficult to follow. The conclusion also repeats several points from the previous paragraph rather than drawing them together. Use clearer references and explain the links between claims, while varying transitions and ensuring each paragraph develops one connected line of reasoning.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use a relevant range of topic vocabulary, including “digital media,” “crucial role,” “domestic artists,” and “promote their country globally.” These choices help communicate the main ideas, and the reader can generally understand your meaning. However, several word-choice and collocation errors reduce precision, such as “people lives,” “more easier,” “creates million of jobs,” and “a different experience.” There are also spelling errors, including “understanable,” “befor,” and “opportunites,” as well as inconsistent capitalisation. Aim to use common collocations accurately and check spelling carefully. More precise terms for the economic and cultural effects would also help you express the argument with greater flexibility.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including a conditional structure in “if we pay more attention to domestic theatres it can give a chance…” and a subordinate clause beginning “although.” Most sentences communicate the intended meaning, and the overall argument remains understandable. Some grammatical errors persist, however: “people lives” needs a possessive form, “it creates million of jobs” has agreement and plural problems, and “their economy still depend” does not agree in number. The opening “This essay will discuss the both views befor giving…” also has an article and sentence-construction problem. Punctuation is sometimes missing, particularly after the conditional clause. Review agreement, articles, plurals and clause punctuation, then proofread complex sentences for accuracy.
