Student answer (Band 5.5)

Many people believe that in current timeline, people can watch all the entertainment the want in video sharing platforms; as a result, threaters and cinemas halls are no longer preffered. Subsequently others argue that thereaters and cinemas are both important economically and culturally. In my oppinion, they are not as important as before.

Nowdays, people can watch latest movies and TV series on online, using different video sharing platforms. They no longer need to travel to cinema hall for watching movies. It saves their time and money. Also they dont have to line up for tickets and avoid crowded places. In todays world, people can entertain through platforms such as, Netflix, Amazon Prime video, Youtube and many more video sharing platforms. They can also watch movies in HD and 3D quality. Subsequently, people choose watching movie at home.

On the other hand, Threater and cinema hall provides a wide rance of video quality. Also people can watch latest realeased movie in the cinema hall. Some the the cinema hall also provide 3D movies which deels like real. During movie realeasing time they can meet with the star actors in the cinema hall. Movie threater is also a traditional platform for watching movies, people can group up with friends and families for watching movies and enjoy a suitable time together.

Although, in my view i think watching movies and TV series at home is really time saving, rather than watching movies in the cinema hall. Additionally i also believe that watching movies on video sharing platforms is very cost effective and less enery requires than movie threater. The video sharing platforms subscription was less than the ticket price

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You discuss both perspectives and state your view: online viewing is more convenient and economical, while cinemas offer a shared experience and special screenings. These points are relevant, but the response only partly develops the task. The economic and cultural importance of cinemas is not fully explored; for example, meeting actors and watching with family are mentioned, but their wider cultural or economic significance is not explained. Your opinion that cinemas are “not as important as before” is clear initially, though the final paragraph repeats the preference for home viewing rather than weighing both sides or giving a developed conclusion. Explain the consequences of each view and support your claims with specific examples to make the response more complete.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a coherent overall arrangement: an introduction, a paragraph about online entertainment, a paragraph about cinemas, and a final paragraph giving your opinion. This makes the main line of discussion easy to follow. However, connections between ideas are sometimes mechanical or unclear. “Subsequently” is used where a contrast or result is not clearly established, and “Although” begins the final paragraph without a contrasting clause. Some points also run together, such as the sentence about cinema quality and meeting actors. Use linking expressions that accurately show the relationship between ideas, and make the conclusion a distinct summary of your position. Clearer sentence boundaries and more precise referencing would strengthen the progression.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “video sharing platforms,” “subscription,” “crowded places,” and “3D quality,” so the reader can understand the main ideas. However, the range is limited and several spelling and word-choice errors are noticeable, sometimes making the text less fluent: “threaters,” “preffered,” “wide rance,” and “realeased.” Some expressions are also unnatural, such as “in current timeline,” “watch movies on online,” and “less enery requires.” Aim for accurate spelling and natural collocations, and vary repeated words such as “watch,” “movies,” and “platforms.” Learning topic-specific phrases for cultural value and economic impact would also help you express the second viewpoint more precisely.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt a mixture of simple sentences and longer structures, including “Although, in my view…” and sentences joined with “and,” which shows some effort to vary sentence forms. However, errors occur frequently and can make parts of the response difficult to read. Examples include “people can entertain through platforms,” “They no longer need to travel to cinema hall,” and “The video sharing platforms subscription was less than the ticket price.” These show problems with verb patterns, articles, possessives, and sentence construction. There are also missing spaces after full stops and inconsistent capitalization, as in “movies. It” and “On the other hand, Threater.” Practise building accurate complex sentences and check agreement, articles, and punctuation before submitting.
