Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 3.0

The opening identifies both sides of the question: online entertainment may reduce the importance of cinemas, while cinemas can benefit the economy and culture. You also attempt to state a position, but “both has positive and negative effects” does not clearly answer which view you support. The response then stops after the unfinished phrase “On the one hand, we locals are persuing our lives in such modern era,” so neither view is explained, no examples or reasons are developed, and the discussion is not completed. The response is also substantially below the required 250 words. To improve, state a clear opinion and develop both sides in separate paragraphs, using specific explanations and examples before concluding.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0

There is a basic attempt to organise the response: the introduction presents the two views, and “On the one hand” signals the start of a body paragraph. This gives the reader a limited sense of direction. However, the paragraph is unfinished, so there is no progression of supporting ideas, no discussion of the opposing view, and no conclusion. The transition “Others consider it that” is also awkward and does not connect the contrast smoothly. Build a complete structure with an introduction, one paragraph for each view, and a concluding paragraph. Within each body paragraph, connect a main point to an explanation and example, using clear referencing and transitions.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

The response uses some vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “digital age,” “economy,” “culture,” and “online,” so the general subject is identifiable. However, the range is very limited because the response ends before the ideas can be developed, and several choices or forms are inaccurate or unnatural, such as “basics entertainment,” “locals,” and “beneficial for nation's economy and culture.” The spelling “persuing” also reduces accuracy. Aim for precise topic vocabulary and natural collocations, for example, describing online access as “streaming services” and cinemas as “cultural venues” or “sources of employment.” Proofread spelling and choose words that express the intended meaning rather than relying on broad terms.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

You attempt a complex contrast in the introduction and use a linking phrase to begin a body paragraph, but the grammatical range shown is narrow and control is inconsistent. Examples include “theaters and cinemas has,” where the plural subject needs a plural verb, and “locals can able to watch,” which combines two incompatible verb patterns. “Cinemas and theater is” also has a subject–verb agreement problem. The final sentence is incomplete, leaving its meaning unfinished. Practise accurate basic sentence patterns first, then add complex clauses with controlled verb forms and agreement. Check articles and sentence boundaries as well, so each sentence is complete and easy to follow.
