Student answer (Band 5.5)
A thought of reducing cinemas has become increasingly common. This is because change in lifestyle has taken mammoth dimensions. While some people argue it is still crucial for economically and culturally. others believe online channels have all the entertainment. this essay intends to shed light on its both views, and i believe cinema is no longer important.
To begin with, there are many reasons why cinemas are no longer important in digital era. The dominant reason is technological advancement. To explain, there are many gadgets and platforms, due to which people are not interested in cinemas. As netflix provide all new movies and series which people, while. sitting at home can watch comfortably. For example, it costs not much as cinema, and people can enjoy movies on any platform. As a result, technology creates many facilities for people. In addition, noawadays young generation construct cinemas at home, because wifi made people lives more easy. To put it simply, in posh areas many people have cinemas at home, even teachnology provides as big wides creen tvs. and as many mb wifi they can adjust in their houses. Even middle-class people also love to watch everything online everthing because of wifi.
However, some people believe that cinemas are still benefical for the economy and culture. To elaborate this it provides economic benefits to country. if people watch movies in cinemas it will grow not only the economy and culture, but also film industry. some people believe it will give the relax time, when they specially go to the cinema. Because at home they can't focus. moreover, many people believe sound system is more better in cinemas. while sitting at home they cannot feel that sound and visualization. For intance, cinemas they feel special because of the popcorn snack and wider screen also. Thus, cinema provide many comfortable facillities.
In conclusion, although cinemas provide better sound system snd grow economy and culture. i believe cinemas are not important nowadays because many online platforms provide all new movies and series.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address both sides of the discussion and state your position clearly: you argue that online platforms make cinemas less important, while acknowledging their economic and cultural value. Relevant supporting points include convenience and cost at home, alongside cinemas’ contribution to the film industry and their immersive sound and screen experience. However, some ideas are asserted rather than fully explained. For example, the claim that home viewing benefits people because of Wi-Fi and large televisions could be linked more clearly to why this replaces a cinema visit. The opposing view is also less developed: the cultural importance of cinemas is mentioned but not illustrated. Develop each main point with a specific explanation or example, and make your comparison of the two views more explicit.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a clear overall arrangement: an introduction, a paragraph supporting online entertainment, a contrasting paragraph on cinemas, and a conclusion that restates your opinion. Signposting such as “To begin with,” “However,” and “In conclusion” helps readers follow this structure. Within paragraphs, though, connections are sometimes mechanical or unclear. The sequence from Netflix to home cinemas and then middle-class viewers repeats the convenience point without showing how each sentence advances the argument. Some transitions, including “To elaborate this,” do not clearly express the relationship between ideas, and punctuation sometimes disrupts sentence flow. Group related points, use pronouns with clear references, and connect examples directly to the claim they support.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some topic-relevant vocabulary, including “technological advancement,” “economic benefits,” “film industry,” and “sound system,” so the reader can understand the main discussion. However, the range is limited by repeated general words such as “people,” “many,” and “provide,” and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate or awkward. Examples include “a thought of reducing cinemas,” “change in lifestyle has taken mammoth dimensions,” and “construct cinemas at home”; these make parts of the argument less natural or precise. Spelling errors such as “noawadays,” “teachnology,” and “facillities” also weaken control. Aim for accurate, natural phrases and vary vocabulary for audiences, streaming services, and cinema experiences.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including a contrast clause beginning “While some people argue…” and a reason clause with “because.” The main ideas are generally understandable, but errors in sentence construction, agreement, articles, and punctuation recur. For instance, “While some people argue it is still crucial for economically and culturally” is incomplete in structure, while “As netflix provide” has a subject–verb agreement problem. Capitalisation and sentence boundaries are also inconsistent, as in “culture. if people watch…” and “wides creen tvs.” Some sentences contain fragments or awkwardly placed clauses, such as “which people, while. sitting at home can watch comfortably.” Practise building complete sentences and checking agreement, clause boundaries, and punctuation.
