Student answer (Band 5.5)
Modern era has made everything easier, watching movies using diferent platforms online to buying whole grocery, clothes and other necessary items. The comfort to not going out from our homes has made our lives dependable to machines. While others definately argue because of this cause as theatres and cinemas do bring physical interaction with people and boosts economy as well. Therefore, I largely support the opinion of the importance of theatres and cinemas important in terms of many ways.
watching online movies at home or even at home based cinema room brings excitement with famiy and friends, but with limited resources. The sound system, the environment comes from the people around you and less people won't bring that much laughter at all. Moreover, smal screens, even if a TV or projector can be maximized to its full width and length, even then we won't be able to enjoy the 2D effect of movies which actually we can get from cinemas or Theatres. In addition, cinemas bring 3D crafted movies as well, eating sources, interval breaks and all facilities, even the interaction of new people and such environment is good for ourselves as it boosts confidence.
In such a rapid-fast growing technology world, people don't have much time left to watch movies at cinemas. Paid websites like Netflix, Prime or unpaid websitesl like Himovies have made digital media easy, any kind of movies are available to be watched from anywhere. People do save money. Watching series or movies online also saves time, which they tend to invest in their work more.
In my opinion, seeing such a technological world, I'd still prefer to watch my favourite movies at cinemas as I personally think it's an escape for all of us from our busy world. The vibe cinemas gives, online or watching it on biggest TV won't make it feel that way.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address both perspectives: the paragraph about online viewing explains convenience, lower costs and time savings, while the earlier discussion highlights the social atmosphere and cinematic experience. Your own preference is clear in the final paragraph, where you describe cinemas as an “escape” from a busy world. These are relevant points, but the economic and cultural importance mentioned in the prompt is not explored in much depth; the response focuses more on personal enjoyment and convenience. Some claims, such as cinemas boosting confidence, would benefit from explanation or a concrete example. Develop the two sides more evenly and connect your reasons directly to the economic and cultural roles of theatres and cinemas to make the discussion more complete.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure, with separate paragraphs for the cinema experience, the advantages of online viewing, and your opinion. This helps the reader follow the main contrast, and linking expressions such as “Moreover,” “In addition,” and “In my opinion” signal relationships between points. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes loose: the first body paragraph moves from sound and audience atmosphere to screen size, 3D films, food and confidence without clearly grouping or developing these ideas. The opening also combines several points before establishing the discussion. Use clearer topic sentences and organise each paragraph around one central reason; make references between sentences more precise so the links feel less like a list.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “digital media,” “physical interaction,” “3D,” “platforms,” and “technological world.” This gives you enough range to discuss both online entertainment and cinema-going. However, several word choices and collocations are inaccurate or awkward, such as “dependable to machines,” “eating sources,” and “rapid-fast growing technology world.” There are also spelling errors, including “diferent,” “definately,” “famiy,” and “smal,” which reduce the overall control of vocabulary. Aim for more natural combinations and check spelling carefully. For example, describe people as becoming “dependent on technology,” and refer to “food and refreshments” rather than “eating sources.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt a mixture of simple and more complex sentences, including a contrast introduced by “While” and a reason introduced by “which.” The main meaning is generally understandable, but grammatical errors occur across the response. Examples include the opening fragment “Modern era has made everything easier,” the incorrect construction “The comfort to not going out,” and the agreement error “The vibe cinemas gives.” Articles and sentence boundaries also need attention, as in “The sound system, the environment comes from the people around you,” where the structure is unclear. Practise building complete sentences with a clear subject and verb, and check agreement, articles and verb patterns. More accurate control of these basics would make your ideas easier to follow.
