Student answer (Band 6.0)
Some individual believe that theater and cinema are not important simply because of technological advancement world of entertainment and almost everything is available on internet. While other people still consider that theaters and cinema are still popular culturally and economically. In my opinion, there are a good amount of people who prefers to go to theatres or cinemas for the experience, whereas online entertainment platform may be good alternative too. My views will be dicussed further.
There are many people who loves to watch a movies on a big screen or go to theatres to watch a live performance. It gives them joy and watching a movie in cinema gives audiance a sense of participation and makes us feel like we are part of that movie. For instance, Chirstopher Nolan's movies 'The Odyssye' and 'Intersteller' are masterpiece and has beautiful cinemetography and soundtrack, we can get it's true experience only in theaters because watching it online might not justified what Nolan has created for us. Theaters and cinemas also creates lot of job opportunities as creating it needs lot of manpower. Furthermore, it might provide a medium where we can know the different culture of the world because there are lot of historical and cultural movies and plays, seeing them may give us idea of the various culture.
In contrast, the use of OTT platforms has increased substantially in past years. These platforms are good for people who can not afford to go to theatres or would like to watch different kind of shows in their home. Nowadays, OTT platform are quite popular among young adutls, who wants to have access to many type of geners in cheap price. For example, Jio platform provides various type of shows with just minimum recharge to their services.
In conclusion, theatres and cinemas are still relevent economically and culturally because it job opportunity it creates and experience it gives, while OTT platforms could be good alternative for people who can not afford or wants to have access to wide range of shows.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address both sides of the discussion and give a clear overall view: cinemas and theatres offer a distinctive experience and cultural and economic value, while online platforms provide convenient, affordable access. The Nolan example helps explain why some films are better experienced on a large screen, and the Jio example supports the opposing view. However, the two sides are not developed equally: the online-entertainment paragraph mainly lists convenience and low cost, without exploring how this affects the importance of cinemas. The cultural and employment points are also asserted rather than fully explained. To strengthen the response, develop each main reason with a clearer explanation and a specific consequence, and make your own position more decisive than saying online platforms are a “good alternative too.”
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, a paragraph supporting theatres and cinemas, a contrasting paragraph about OTT platforms, and a conclusion. Linking expressions such as “For instance,” “Furthermore,” and “In contrast” help readers follow the progression, and the conclusion returns to the main comparison. This meets the lower-band expectations securely and shows some features of stronger organisation. However, the first body paragraph combines the viewing experience, employment, and cultural value, so its focus shifts several times. Some connections are also broad rather than precise, and “My views will be dicussed further” is an unnecessary signpost. Group related ideas into clearer units and use references that explicitly connect each example to the point it supports.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use a relevant range of topic vocabulary, including “technological advancement,” “live performance,” “job opportunities,” “cultural,” and “OTT platforms.” These choices make the subject clear, and phrases such as “sense of participation” attempt to express a more specific idea. However, spelling errors and imprecise or unnatural combinations are noticeable, including “audiance,” “cinemetography,” “relevent,” “in cheap price,” and “different kind of geners.” Some wording is also repetitive, particularly “theatres and cinemas” and “platform.” This limits the precision and naturalness of the vocabulary. Check spelling carefully, learn common collocations as complete phrases, and vary repeated terms only where the alternative is accurate.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt a mix of simple and complex forms, including a contrast clause beginning “whereas” and a relative clause describing young adults. The main ideas remain understandable, but some errors in agreement, articles, plurals, and sentence construction recur. For example, “Some individual believe” needs plural agreement, while “there are a good amount of people who prefers” contains mismatched agreement. In “Theaters and cinemas also creates,” the plural subject requires a plural verb. There are also incomplete or awkward constructions, such as “because it job opportunity it creates.” Review subject–verb agreement and article use, and edit each sentence for a complete, grammatically connected structure. Greater accuracy in these patterns would make your varied sentences easier to read.
