Student answer (Band 5.0)
There has been an ongoing debate about whether digital age, theaters and cinemas are no longer important. Some people believe that people can watch all the entertainment they want online, whereas others argue that theatres and cinemas are still important both economically and culturally. This essay will discuss both perspectives before giving my own opinion.
On the one hand, proponents argue that digital age, theatres and cinemas are no longer vital as people can watch all the entertainment they want online. Some websities and apps provides different types of the movies the people can watch easily. This is mainly because people are free to watch moives online without any subscription. Moreover, they can easily watch the movies anytime and anywhere. Consequences, online websites are more conveniet and helps to save people money.
On the other hand, crticis contend that theatres and cinemas are still important both economically and culturally. Tickets can be economically for some people. This can be fact to be attributed that theatres and cinemas play a significant role in culturally. In addition, many families and friends go to cinemas and watch their movies together and enjoy alot. As a result, people attach their culture and easily share their opinions in own language and perspectives.
In conclusion, this essay both views have their own merits. I believe that both online and culturally entertainments are important for people lives. The online entertainments are more conveniet for people and culturally movies help to attach their own culture. Therefore. it is more practical and beneficial in the long-run

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5
You introduce both views and state a general preference for online entertainment alongside culturally significant films, so the response is relevant to the question. However, the discussion is brief and the position is not fully clear: the conclusion says both forms are important but does not explain how you weigh their value. The economic case is especially unclear; “Tickets can be economically for some people” does not explain how cinemas benefit the economy or why ticket prices matter. Cultural value is mentioned through families watching together, but this idea needs a specific example and fuller explanation. The response is 205 words, 45 words below the 250-word minimum; the 51 words copied from the prompt were not counted. Develop each view with reasons and examples, then state a more definite opinion.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, and a conclusion. “On the one hand” and “On the other hand” help signal the change in perspective, and the main ideas are generally placed in relevant paragraphs. However, progression within paragraphs is limited, and some links do not clearly express the relationship between ideas. For example, “Consequences” does not connect naturally to the preceding points, while “This can be fact to be attributed that” makes the reasoning difficult to follow. The conclusion also begins abruptly with “this essay both views.” Use clear linking phrases, make each sentence build on the previous one, and ensure references such as “this” have an unmistakable meaning.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “proponents,” “perspectives,” “significant role,” and “culturally,” and the reader can identify your main points. However, the range is limited and several spelling, word-form, and collocation errors make the writing less clear or natural. Examples include “websities,” “moives,” “conveniet,” and “enjoy alot.” Phrases such as “Tickets can be economically” and “online and culturally entertainments” do not express the intended meaning accurately. Aim to use precise topic vocabulary and check spelling and common word combinations. For instance, you could describe cinemas as supporting local employment or providing a shared cultural experience, rather than relying on repeated references to watching movies.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt a mixture of simple sentences and longer structures, including a contrast clause with “whereas” and a reason introduced by “because.” However, the range is limited, and errors occur frequently enough to make some sentences difficult to understand. For example, “Some websities and apps provides” has a subject–verb agreement problem, and “Consequences, online websites are more conveniet and helps” has an unclear sentence opening and mismatched agreement. The conclusion, “In conclusion, this essay both views have their own merits,” is also missing punctuation and a grammatical connection between its clauses. Practise accurate sentence patterns, agreement, articles, and punctuation, then proofread each sentence to ensure it is complete and its parts fit together.
