Student answer (Band 5.0)

In my opinion in the digital age , theatres and cinemas are important because theatres and cinemas are improtant both economically and culturally.some people can was all the entertainment they want online but its not economically greater comparing to theatres and cinemas.for example , If a film got release and it goes to theatres , It generates a lot of economical revenue like ticket price, snacks price, gst, parking etc.It generates a lot more. There is lot goes behind the screen like distributors revenue, theatres revenue, producers a huge transactions done for one film.the people who are watching entertainment online just do the subscrition to respective ott or any other platform thats it , logically it also generates the reveneu but not comparing to Theatres and cinemas.coming to culture , I feel Theatres and cinemas give more entertainment than online , there will be a lot of dramas ,emotions, excitement a lot.... runs by audience. All together enjoys the movie different kind of emotions , drams, excitement and lot more.watching with couple of people in online is not at all an entertainment . you need to watch it with bunch of people so that you can feel the exact emotions of the film.

for example , watching a thriller movie with two or three people doesn't make you thrill and one more thing watching outside theatres you might have many ditactions too , but you watch the same movie with bunch of people in a theatre without any distractions think in this way , It will be super thrilled .

so by comaring with all the terms , I feel Theatres and cinemas are still important both economically and culturally.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

Your position is clear: you believe theatres and cinemas remain important, and you give relevant economic and cultural reasons. The examples of ticket sales, snacks, parking and the shared audience experience help address the topic. However, the task asks you to discuss both views, and the online-entertainment argument receives only brief treatment: you mention subscriptions but do not explain why people value online access, such as convenience, choice or lower cost. Several claims about the theatre experience are repeated rather than developed, and the economic comparison is asserted without much support. To strengthen the response, explain the strongest case for online entertainment before weighing it against your own view, and develop each main reason with a specific explanation or example.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5

The response has a recognisable overall direction: it moves from economic reasons to cultural experience and ends by restating your opinion. Linking phrases such as “for example,” “coming to culture” and “so” signal these stages. However, the ideas are presented in one long paragraph, so the two sides of the discussion and the separate reasons are not clearly organised. Connections are often repetitive or mechanical, particularly the repeated references to “a lot” and “theatres and cinemas.” Some sentences run together, making it difficult to see where one point ends and the next begins. Use separate paragraphs for the online view, your economic and cultural arguments, and the conclusion; then use clear references and varied transitions to show how the points relate.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some topic-relevant vocabulary, including “distributors,” “revenue,” “subscriptions,” “emotions” and “distractions,” which helps communicate your main ideas. However, the range is limited and several words or phrases are repeated, especially “a lot,” “entertainment” and “theatres and cinemas.” There are also noticeable spelling and word-choice errors, such as “improtant,” “subscrition,” “reveneu,” “ditactions” and “comaring.” Some combinations are unnatural, for example “economical revenue” and “super thrilled,” and “dramas” does not clearly express the intended audience response. Build a more precise set of topic phrases and check spelling and collocations; this will make your meaning easier to follow and your comparisons more convincing.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

You attempt to connect ideas with longer structures, for example the sentence beginning “If a film got release and it goes to theatres,” and you use simple sentences to state your position. However, the range is limited, and many sentences contain errors in verb forms, sentence boundaries, agreement or punctuation. Examples include “If a film got release,” “There is lot goes behind the screen,” and “All together enjoys the movie”; these structures make the intended relationships unclear. Commas and full stops are also often missing, producing run-on sentences. Practise building accurate simple sentences first, then add controlled clauses with “because,” “while” and “although.” Check each sentence for a clear subject and verb, correct tense, and a complete stop before moving to the next idea.
