Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You address both sides of the discussion and give a clear overall view: online entertainment is convenient, while cinemas and theatres still contribute economically and socially. Relevant points include online access being cheaper and the employment and tax contributions of multiplexes. However, some ideas are asserted rather than explained. For example, the claim that cinemas promote culture is not clearly supported by the example about couples, and the economic point focuses mainly on employees paying tax rather than showing the wider impact of the industry. Develop each side with a specific explanation or example, and make your own position more explicit and consistent throughout, rather than relying mainly on the final paragraphs to state it.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, a paragraph for each view, your opinion, and a conclusion. This gives the reader an overall route through the discussion. You also use linking expressions such as “On the other hand,” “For example,” and “In conclusion.” At times, however, cohesion feels mechanical or unclear. The first paragraph combines several reasons in a long sentence, while “As I see that” does not connect naturally to the point that follows. Some references, such as “it” in the economic paragraph, are not immediately clear. Use shorter, more focused sentences and make each paragraph’s main point explicit before adding supporting details.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You attempt a range of topic-related vocabulary, including “premium content,” “job opportunities,” “GDP,” “social engagement,” and “traditional values.” These choices show an effort to discuss economic and cultural effects, but inaccurate word forms, spelling, and collocations sometimes make the meaning less natural: “availabilities,” “long ques,” “fabricated stories entertainment,” and “cultural calues” are examples. Some expressions are also vague, such as “modern solution” and “open source” when describing online viewing. Aim for precise, conventional phrases and check spelling and word forms carefully. This would make your ideas easier to understand while retaining the range you are already attempting.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including clauses introduced by “because,” “while,” and “whereas.” However, errors in agreement, sentence construction, articles, and punctuation occur across the response and sometimes make relationships between ideas difficult to follow. For example, “multiplex and movie hall is” has a subject–verb agreement problem, and “due to the numerous jobs availabilities in cinemas and theatres, are essential” lacks a clear grammatical subject. The opening sentence also has an awkward construction after “enabled.” Practise building complete sentences with a clear subject and verb, then check agreement and punctuation. More accurate control of these patterns would make your complex ideas clearer.
