Student answer (Band 5.0)

Few individusal said that in the techincal time, theartres and cinemas are no longer crucial as humas can watch all the shows moives and ertainment they want online while other argue that theatres and cinemas are still important both economically and culturally. Although watching movies or other show in online provided better convenience, i believed people should watch entertainment in theater and cinemas becaused it helped to improved our commnunity economic and culture growth.

On the one hand, the main reason why people support watching all things online at the home because it was very convenience to the indivudual it help to watch any thing as the person requrments. Like some people have hactic day and they want to realex and enjoy they can watch in online platfrom it was time saving and we can watch anything what we want. For example manny people who do works and don't have inof time to go outside and hangout with family friends to go theatres and cinemas they can watch anything in oline. However , i believe that watching entertenmainted shows in online platfroms was very convenience but it also effect pople lifestyle because they can become more lizy they have to pay big amount of bills becaused online paltforms are also paid.

On the other hand, people bellieve that watching all the entertainment in thearters and cinemas are still imoportant both economically and culturally. This is because when we watch movie in the theatres we have to paid certend amount according to their rules that can help in economically. When we watch entertainment with family and other it also help to improve culturally.

In conclusing, although watching shows in online has some advantage but watching movie in the cinamas are important both economically and culturally is more important in my opinion it help to grow economy and culture becaused it can gain money.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You address both views and give a clear preference for theatres and cinemas, especially in the introduction and conclusion. The online-view paragraph offers relevant reasons, such as convenience for people with busy schedules, while the opposing view mentions ticket payments and cultural benefits. However, the discussion is only partial: the economic point is asserted rather than explained, and “improve culturally” does not show how shared cinema-going benefits culture. The conclusion repeats that cinemas are more important but does not resolve the comparison with online entertainment in detail. To strengthen the response, develop each main claim with a specific explanation or example, and make your position more fully reasoned throughout. The response meets the stated length requirement; 12 words copied from the prompt were not counted.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs beginning “On the one hand” and “On the other hand,” and a conclusion. These markers help readers identify the two views, and the overall direction is understandable. However, progression within paragraphs is uneven. The first body paragraph moves from convenience to busy schedules, then to lifestyle effects and subscription costs without clearly connecting these points. Some linking is repetitive or awkward, including “However” followed by a claim that largely repeats the earlier convenience point. References such as “it” and “they” are sometimes unclear. Use a clearer sequence—claim, explanation, example—and connect each sentence to one central idea; vary linking expressions and make pronoun references explicit.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

You use some task-relevant vocabulary, including “convenience,” “time saving,” “economically,” and “culturally,” and the reader can generally identify your intended topic. However, the range is limited and several words or phrases are repeated, particularly “watch,” “online,” and “important.” Frequent spelling errors—such as “individusal,” “theartres,” “entertenmainted,” and “cinamas”—make the writing harder to read. Some choices are also imprecise or unnatural, for example “watch all things online,” “paid amount,” and “improve culturally.” Build a more accurate set of topic phrases and check spelling carefully. More precise expressions such as “stream films at home,” “purchase a ticket,” and “support cultural life” would make your points clearer and more appropriate to an academic essay.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and complex sentences, including a contrast with “Although” and a reason introduced by “because.” This shows some effort to vary sentence forms. However, the range remains limited, and complex attempts are often faulty. Examples include “the main reason … because it was very convenience,” “it help to watch,” and “they can watch in online platform,” where sentence construction, verb forms, or grammatical patterns are not controlled. Agreement and tense also shift, as in “watching … are still important” and “it helped to improved.” Punctuation and sentence boundaries are inconsistent, with long sentences joined without clear control. Practise accurate subject–verb agreement, verb patterns after “help,” and complete sentences before adding more complex clauses.
