Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 3.0

You identify both sides in the opening: online entertainment may reduce the need for cinemas, while venues can contribute to the economy and culture. You also state a position, saying they play a “vital role” in community engagement. However, the response does not develop either view or give reasons and examples, so the task is addressed only minimally. The economic and cultural claims are mentioned but not explained, and the online-entertainment argument is not explored beyond availability. The response is also substantially below the required 250 words, leaving the discussion incomplete. To improve, explain each side with specific consequences or examples, then make your opinion clear and support it throughout.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5

The response has a basic overall shape: it introduces the two positions and then gives your opinion. The contrast marker “While” helps signal the opposing view, and “In my opinion” makes the shift to your stance clear. However, the ideas are compressed into two sentences, with no developed paragraphs or logical progression beyond the initial contrast. The final sentence combines community, economic and cultural points without showing how they connect. Build separate paragraphs for the online view, the continuing value of venues, and your conclusion. Use linking phrases to show relationships between specific reasons, rather than relying mainly on a single contrast marker.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “digital age,” “entertainment,” “economy,” “culture” and “community engagement,” which makes your general subject clear. However, the range is narrow because the response is very brief, and several spelling errors make the writing less accurate: “dcesreased,” “olther,” “cinmeas,” “engageement” and “encourgaed.” Some expressions are also awkward or imprecise, such as “all types of entertainments” and “better helathier society.” Aim for accurate spelling and more natural collocations, and use vocabulary that distinguishes the two arguments—for example, “live performance,” “local employment” and “shared cultural experience.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

You attempt a contrast between the two views and use a complex opening structure with “While,” as well as a separate sentence to state your opinion. These choices show some ability to connect clauses. However, grammatical control is uneven. In “all types of entertainments and movies are available online and easily accessible, due to which,” the clause connection is awkward, and the sentence does not clearly express the consequence. The final sentence also joins several ideas without a clear grammatical structure. There is little evidence of varied sentence forms in this short response. Practise writing clear subject–verb clauses and use a full sentence to explain each reason; check articles, plurals and punctuation when editing.
