Student answer (Band 5.5)
Digital world has totally changed over several years. Cinemas and theatres have importance in terms of expanding Gross domestic product (GDP) of any country and to entertain people who wants to socialize in person. People get a chance to engage with other people around them and to disscuss certain movie or play. Culturally it plays a vital role to portray historical event and achievemnts of ancesstoral untiring efforts.
Those who say it is no longer as important as there is new ways of entertainment. Online entertainment is somehow replacing cinema and theatres in a way, now everything is just one touch away. People does not need to go at certain places for audition, they can easily upload their video or content to make it viral and trendy. Everyone can easily comment and suggest to improve their content. Companies can easily hire any candidate they want.
In my opinion, Online entertainment has advance and exceed than theatre and cinema entertainment. People prefer everything online as compare to go outdoor for basic entertainment. As of my experience, I prefer online over physcial cinema. When I was very tired and lithargic after getting free from my office work and house chores. I want some entertainment on that bored day so I just opened my tablet ans start watching Netflix and get relaxed. When ever I want to expolre about history I just picked mobile phone and search about topic of my interest adn watch that without wasting time of commute and of any preparation.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You present a clear view that online entertainment is now more convenient and preferable, and you give relevant personal examples involving Netflix and researching history. You also identify reasons cinemas and theatres remain valuable, including social interaction, economic contribution and cultural representation. However, the discussion of the two views is uneven: the benefits of online entertainment receive more explanation, while the economic and cultural claims about live venues are mostly asserted rather than supported with examples. The point about uploading videos and companies hiring candidates also shifts towards online auditions and employment, rather than directly comparing entertainment options. Develop each side with focused reasons and examples, then make your conclusion about their relative importance explicit.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable overall structure: it introduces the topic, discusses the continuing value of venues, considers online entertainment, and gives your own preference. The personal examples also help the reader follow your position. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes unclear, and the links between ideas can feel abrupt. For example, the paragraph about online entertainment moves from uploading content to comments and then to companies hiring candidates, without explaining how these points support the comparison in the question. The final paragraph combines your opinion with two examples in a long sequence. Use clearer topic sentences, group related points, and add explicit links showing how each example supports your argument.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “Gross domestic product (GDP),” “socialize,” “historical event,” and “online entertainment,” and your meaning is generally understandable. However, the range is limited and several word-choice, collocation and spelling errors make the writing less precise, such as “ancesstoral untiring efforts,” “lithargic,” and “expolre.” Some phrases are also unnatural, including “everything is just one touch away” and “as compare to go outdoor.” Aim for accurate, natural collocations rather than ambitious wording that does not fit the context. For instance, explain specifically how venues support local economies or preserve cultural heritage, using precise vocabulary and checking spelling carefully.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and longer sentence forms, and the reader can usually understand the main ideas. However, the range is limited, and errors occur frequently in agreement, verb forms, articles and sentence construction. Examples include “people who wants,” “People does not need,” and “there is new ways”; these should use plural agreement. The sentence beginning “When I was very tired” is a dependent clause presented as a complete sentence, while “I just opened my tablet ans start watching Netflix and get relaxed” shifts tense and form. Practise building accurate complex sentences with clear main clauses, and check subject–verb agreement and consistent past tense when describing your experience.
