Student answer (Band 6.0)

When the topic of theatres and cinemas is discussed, opinions are often divided. Some people believe that movie theatres are no longer usefull due to smart devices and modern technology, whereas others claim that it is still vital for residents and nationwise. Both perspectives will be examined in greater detal before my own opinion.

Those who support the firstview believe that nowadays, people can easily access movies and any entertainmmet shows from online resources. This is because many people are prefer to purchased online ott platforms such as, netflix, amazon prime and hotstar. individuals can easily watch any movies from these application in minimal prices also we can share it with our family members, so it would be save people's money to a large extent. Besides this, these kind of platforms are conveniente for people because they do not need to travel to the cinemas. Conventionally, they can watch movies and shows by their own house or any other places.

On the other hand, supporters of the opposite viewpoint argue that movieplex and theatres are still play a significant role in our culture and local businesses. This is mainly because cinemas create many job opportunities for people, they can open any small business near by this place such as, food stall and shopping center and it will increase employment for residents. Also to oprate these place, they need staffmembers, so many people can get jobs through moviehouse and cinemas. In many countries, it is kind of conventional way to watch movies on a big screan with their friends and family members, so it preserve our past habits and culture. Hence, people can spend their leisure time by visiting theatres and create lots of memories with their closers.

In conclusion, online platforms provide flexibility for people and available in cheap prices as compared to theatres ticket, while having a movieplex can create employment for individuals and preserve our traditional methods. Both perspectives have their own merits. I believe that online ott platforms are much convenient for people to access movies and entertainment shows.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You address both views and state your own preference: online platforms are more convenient. The first body paragraph explains affordability, ease of access and avoiding travel, while the second gives relevant economic and cultural reasons, including jobs and shared cinema-going traditions. This covers the task, but the discussion is unevenly developed. The economic point is supported with examples of nearby food stalls and cinema staff, whereas the cultural claim that cinemas preserve “past habits and culture” is asserted rather than explained. Your conclusion repeats the main contrast but does not clarify why convenience outweighs the economic and cultural benefits. Develop that comparison and add a specific example or explanation to make your position more fully supported.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, one paragraph for each view, and a conclusion. The progression from online convenience to the economic and cultural role of cinemas is easy to follow, and signposts such as “On the other hand” and “In conclusion” help orient the reader. This meets the lower-band expectations securely and shows some stronger control through paragraphing and a logical sequence of points. However, linking is sometimes mechanical, particularly the repeated use of “because,” “also,” and “so.” Some references are unclear, as in “it preserve our past habits,” where the pronoun’s referent is not precise. Use a wider range of linking methods and make references explicit to improve flow.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “online platforms,” “job opportunities,” “employment,” and “preserve our traditional methods.” There are also attempts at more specific expressions, such as “big screen” and “leisure time.” However, spelling errors and inaccurate word choices are noticeable and sometimes distract the reader: “usefull,” “nationwise,” “entertainmmet,” and “screan” are examples. Some phrases are also unnatural or imprecise, including “purchased online ott platforms” and “movieplex.” These issues limit the range and control of your vocabulary. Check spelling carefully and learn common collocations for discussing streaming services, cinema attendance and economic impact.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including clauses introduced by “because” and “whereas,” and most of the message remains understandable. Some sentences are controlled, such as “Both perspectives have their own merits.” However, there are several grammatical errors in verb forms, agreement, articles and sentence construction. For example, “many people are prefer” combines incompatible verb forms, “movieplex and theatres are still play” has an incorrect verb pattern, and “it preserve” lacks subject–verb agreement. The long sentence beginning “This is mainly because cinemas create many job opportunities” also joins ideas without clear grammatical boundaries. Review verb patterns and agreement, and divide long sentences where needed.
