Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0

You state a clear preference for online viewing in the introduction, and you give relevant reasons such as comfort, privacy, and avoiding travel. However, the task asks you to discuss both views, and the case for theatres’ and cinemas’ economic and cultural importance is not meaningfully explained. The final paragraph repeats the advantages of watching at home rather than developing the opposing view, so the response addresses the prompt only minimally. To improve, explain how cinemas support jobs and local businesses, and how shared viewing, live performance, or film heritage contributes to culture. Then compare these points with your reasons for preferring online entertainment and maintain your opinion throughout.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0

The response has separate paragraphs and uses basic signposting such as “On the other hand” and “In contrast,” which gives the reader some indication of direction. However, the ideas are not arranged into a coherent discussion of both sides: the second and third paragraphs both focus on benefits of watching at home, while the final paragraph repeats this position instead of presenting the opposing argument. Some links are also unclear or inaccurate, and the opening paragraph moves quickly from the two views to your opinion. Organise the essay into a clear sequence—introduction, reasons supporting online viewing, reasons cinemas remain important, and conclusion—and use linking phrases only where they accurately show the relationship between ideas.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some topic-related vocabulary, including “technological advancement,” “introvert,” “economically,” and “culturally,” and the reader can generally identify your main subject. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate, sometimes making meaning difficult to follow. For example, “free hand” does not clearly express the intended benefit of technology, and “free cheat codes” is unsuitable for describing ways to access online entertainment. There are also noticeable spelling errors, such as “contemprory,” “peacefull,” and “andvancement,” alongside repeated use of “individuals” and “movies.” Build a more precise range for discussing cost, convenience, employment, and cultural value, and check spelling and collocations carefully.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt some longer sentences and subordinate clauses, for example, “This is because they were not enjoyed and understand the context,” and “if you watch online movies or series, you do not have to pay…”. These attempts show an effort to connect reasons and examples, but the range remains limited and errors are frequent. Verb forms and agreement are often faulty (“they were not enjoyed,” “individuals do have to worry”), and sentence boundaries and punctuation are inconsistent, as in “ancient times.in this era.” Articles and sentence construction also need attention. Practise building accurate simple sentences first, then combine them with clauses using “because,” “although,” and “while.” Proofread each sentence for subject–verb agreement, verb form, and punctuation.
