Student answer (Band 5.5)

It is believe that, in modern era, people approach entertainment through online platforms because it is more convenient and affordable but theatres and cinemas are still important and maintained their value by economically and culturally . I strongly hold the view that despite digital facilities cinemas and theatres are still hold their value.

Many people argued that, there are two major reasons of using online platforms for entertainment.Firstly, persons who are doing a job and work cannot go to cinemas and theaters physically because they are exhuasted after a busy day of work. For instance,To get unwind, these persons are used online resources for relaxment and entertainment such as netflix, youtube. They can utilize at any time during in bus , at work and at home instead of going cinemas and theaters.Another key feature is that, cinemas and theatres charge high prices and sometimes overcrowded ,while online platforms charge a little amount for their access and easy to use. Moreover they are convenient and provides all type of entertainment.

On ther other hand, nowadays, despite these digital platforms cinemas and theatres are still playing crucial role in our culture and economy.A significant number of individuals went to these places to relax and unwind g physically. In terms of importance, these places represents our culture and enhance our economy. For instance, peoples pay high amounts to watch cinemas which increase our country economy and aslo cinemas shows movies in which country culture are presented.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You address both views and state your position: online entertainment is convenient and affordable, while cinemas and theatres retain economic and cultural value. The examples of workers watching Netflix or YouTube and audiences paying for films are relevant. However, the discussion is brief and several claims are asserted rather than explained—for example, the cultural role of cinemas is mentioned, but you do not show how they preserve or express culture. Your own opinion is stated in the introduction but is not developed in the body or conclusion. The response also falls 13 words short of the required minimum, which limits the space available to develop the arguments. Extend each side with a specific explanation or example and finish with a clear concluding judgement.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, a paragraph supporting online platforms, and a paragraph about the continuing importance of cinemas and theatres. Sequencing words such as “Firstly,” “Another key feature,” and “On the other hand” help signal the main points. However, the final paragraph ends abruptly, with no conclusion to bring the discussion together or restate your position. Some links are mechanical or unclear, and ideas within the online-entertainment paragraph run together, particularly the list of places where people can watch content. Use clearer sentence boundaries, connect each example directly to its claim, and add a concluding paragraph. This would create a more consistent progression rather than relying mainly on signposting phrases.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use a relevant range of topic vocabulary, including “online platforms,” “convenient,” “overcrowded,” “culture,” and “economy,” so the main ideas are generally understandable. There are also attempts at more specific expressions, such as “crucial role” and “busy day of work.” However, inaccurate word forms, spelling, and collocations are noticeable and sometimes make the meaning less clear: “exhuasted,” “relaxment,” “went to these places to relax and unwind g physically,” and “increase our country economy.” Some wording is also repetitive, especially “cinemas and theatres” and “online platforms.” Check spelling and learn common word partnerships, then vary references where appropriate—for example, “these venues” or “streaming services.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more extended sentence forms, including a contrast with “despite digital facilities” and a reason introduced by “because.” However, control is inconsistent, and errors occur in basic sentence patterns as well as longer attempts. Examples include “It is believe,” “theatres and cinemas are still hold their value,” and “these places represents our culture,” where verb forms or subject–verb agreement are incorrect. Articles, plurals, and punctuation also need attention, as in “go to cinemas” and the run-on spacing around “For instance,To get unwind.” These errors can make the reader pause. Practise accurate present-tense forms and agreement, and separate ideas into complete sentences before attempting more complex structures.
