Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You address both views: the first body paragraph explains the convenience and savings of online viewing, while the second gives social and emotional reasons to visit cinemas. Your final sentence also states a preference for online films, so a position is present. However, the discussion is only partial: the prompt specifically raises the economic and cultural importance of theatres and cinemas, but these points are not really explored. The cinema-side reasons—such as a more realistic experience and time with family—are relevant but need clearer explanation and examples. The position is also qualified as depending on the person, then shifts to saying online viewing is best. Develop each side more fully and make your own view consistent. The response meets the required length; 16 words copied from the prompt were excluded from the count.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, two body paragraphs signposted by “On the one hand” and “On the other hand,” and a conclusion. This helps readers identify the two perspectives. However, progression within paragraphs is often difficult to follow because ideas are repeated or linked mechanically. In the first body paragraph, the points about convenience, saving time and money, and watching more films overlap without a clear order. Connect each reason to its explanation, and use referencing that makes the subject clear. For example, “it” in “it is easy to watch in a home” has an unclear reference. The conclusion also repeats the opening claim rather than clearly summarising the comparison and your position.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

You use some task-relevant vocabulary, including “online,” “travelling expenses,” “memorable,” and “emotion,” and the reader can generally identify your main points. However, the range is limited and several words or phrases are repeated, especially “movie,” “watch,” and “people.” There are also frequent spelling and word-choice problems, such as “theartres,” “intreast,” “benefical,” and “vibes,” which make parts of the response harder to understand. Some combinations are unnatural, including “movie was look real and natural” and “we can be more touch.” Build a wider set of accurate expressions for discussing convenience, cultural value, and shared experiences, and check spelling and collocations carefully.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

You attempt both simple sentences and longer structures, including a conditional example beginning “when theatres is to far” and a contrast introduced by “However.” However, the range is limited, and attempts to combine ideas often contain frequent errors that can make the meaning difficult to follow. Examples include “nowdays is online system you watch movies,” “people donot go for often theatres,” and “it help to be a happy.” Problems with verb forms, subject–verb agreement, articles, and sentence boundaries recur. Practise building accurate basic clauses first, then join them with clear subordinate clauses. For instance, express the online-viewing point as a complete sentence with a subject and verb, and check agreement and tense in each clause.
