Student answer (Band 5.5)

In the present age it is a very interseting debate. Some people say that due to the advancement of technology, there is no more need for theaters and cinemas.People can do entertainment on their mobile phones and laptops at homes. While other group argues that the theaters and cnemas are still important both economically and culturally. According to me people should enjoy both cinemas as well as watching movies online.

On the first hand, one group gives the reasons behind their arguments that due to the modern age, science has invented a lot of gadgets that provides the facilities to watch movies, dramas and entertainment shows in their houses. They don't need to go outside for entertainment. And moreover, it is very cost friendly in a sense that individuals can avoid to treavel from their homes to theaters. Furthermore, the cost of buyig tickets also remains save.

On the other hand, the second group provides justificaton in the manner that people can go outside in cinemas and theaters to watch films and dramas because it was in their culture. One of the main reason is that families can spend a quality time with each other and enjoy different comedy shows togather.

I my openion the argument of both the groups is reasonable. According to the perspective of first group, due to the advancement in technology individuals can watch movies online even with their families but by connecting the argument of second group it is also important to spend a good time with families for refreshing the brain.

In conclusions, the main purpose of the whole debate is to enjoy some time with friend and families. So sometimes do online screening and sometimes go outside for entartainment.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You discuss both perspectives and state a personal view, saying people should enjoy cinemas as well as online films. You also give relevant reasons: online viewing can save travel and ticket costs, while cinemas allow families to spend time together. However, the discussion remains limited and some points are not fully explained. For example, the claim that theatres are important “economically and culturally” is not really addressed: the cultural point is only briefly linked to family outings, and the economic importance is not developed. Your conclusion repeats the idea of using both options but does not clarify when or why one is preferable. Develop each side with specific explanation or an example, and make your position more precise throughout.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, your opinion, and a conclusion. This helps the reader follow the broad direction of the discussion. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes weak, and several linking phrases feel mechanical or unclear, such as “On the first hand” and “by connecting the argument of second group.” The opinion paragraph largely repeats earlier points rather than extending them, while the conclusion introduces “online screening” without clearly connecting it to the preceding reasoning. Use simpler, accurate transitions and make each paragraph develop one main point in a clear sequence. Refer to groups and ideas more precisely so that connections between sentences are easier to follow.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “advancement of technology,” “watch movies online,” “theaters and cinemas,” and “quality time.” However, the range is limited and some expressions are inaccurate or unnatural, which can make the meaning less clear. Examples include “do entertainment,” “cost friendly,” “the cost of buyig tickets also remains save,” and “theaters and cinemas” when referring to venues in general. There are also noticeable spelling errors, including “interseting,” “cnemas,” “justificaton,” and “entartainment.” Build a more precise range of collocations for discussing access, costs, cultural value, and social experiences, and proofread spelling carefully.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt both simple and more extended sentence forms, including clauses introduced by “because” and “that,” and most of the main ideas remain understandable. However, control is inconsistent, particularly in longer sentences. For example, “science has invented a lot of gadgets that provides” has a subject–verb agreement error, and “One of the main reason is that families can spend” has a singular/plural mismatch. Other problems include “it was in their culture,” where the tense does not fit the general claim, and missing or misplaced punctuation, as in “cinemas.People.” Sentence patterns are also repetitive, with many ideas joined by “and” or “because.” Practise accurate agreement, articles, tense choice, and punctuation, then vary sentence structures while keeping them controlled.
