Student answer (Band 6.0)
It is a debate the in the modern era of technology the importance of theaters and cinemas drastically decrease because most of the people watch all the entertainment online. While other argues that they have the same importance both economically and culturally. From my prespective the both views have its own value.
In the begin from due to modern technology its become more easy for the people to access the entertainement apps . They can watch online movies irrespect of the booking tickets and to travel towards theatres, they can see any movie at any time of the day. Which is more convinent and comfortable for them. For instance an employee when become free from the working hour of the office at night then he can enjoy a movie at home with his family or alone rather then going to cinema and booked a ticket before it which may be a headache for him.
Secondly, the importance of the theatres and cinemas remained the same throughout the years because it has its own distinct spatial design engineered for visual immersion, psychological flow and acoustic control. The people goes to cinemas with their friends and families because of its own spatial space in hearts of people. Moreover, the people although of techology and easy access to movies prefer cinema because they say that theaters offer massive screens
and high dynamic range projection. Nowadays 3D and 5D cinemas are introduced that gives us a real experience.
In conclusion, while the digital age has made streaming platforms the most convenient and cost effective way to access entertainment while the cinemas and theaters remain irreplaceable both economically and culturally

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address both sides of the discussion and give a personal view, particularly in the conclusion, where you say cinemas remain “irreplaceable both economically and culturally.” The online-entertainment paragraph also gives a relevant reason—convenience—and illustrates it with an employee watching a film at home. The cinema paragraph offers cultural and experiential points, including shared visits and 3D or 5D viewing. However, the economic importance mentioned in the prompt is not explained, and the cultural argument is asserted more than developed. Your opening says both views have value, but your final preference could be stated more clearly and consistently. Develop the economic point with a specific example, such as jobs or local business revenue, and explain how each example supports your position.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction, one paragraph for online viewing, one for cinemas, and a conclusion. Sequencing phrases such as “For instance,” “Secondly,” and “In conclusion” help readers follow the main stages. However, some links are mechanical, and the opening sentence is difficult to follow, which weakens the transition into the discussion. The sentence beginning “Which is more convenient” is a fragment, while the final sentence joins two contrasting ideas with “while” in a way that makes the relationship unclear. Some references, such as “they” and “its own,” do not clearly identify whether you mean theatres, cinemas, or entertainment. Use clearer topic sentences and connect each example explicitly to the point it supports.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
You use an adequate range of topic vocabulary, including “streaming platforms,” “spatial design,” “visual immersion,” “acoustic control,” and “high dynamic range projection.” These choices show an effort to express specific ideas rather than relying only on basic terms. Some less common phrases are not used naturally or precisely, however: “spatial space in hearts of people” is unclear, and “the importance ... remained the same throughout the years” is too absolute for the argument. There are also spelling errors, including “prespective,” “entertainement,” and “convinent,” which reduce accuracy. Aim for natural collocations and check spelling carefully. For example, describe cinemas as offering a “shared viewing experience” and say they “continue to play an important role” rather than claiming their importance has remained unchanged.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including a conditional example about an employee who finishes work at night and a contrast between online viewing and cinema-going. However, errors in sentence construction and verb forms are frequent enough to make some sentences difficult to process. For example, “While other argues” lacks a clear main clause, and “Which is more convenient” is a fragment. Agreement and verb-form problems appear in “the people goes” and “when become free,” while the conclusion’s “while” clause is not completed in a balanced structure. Work on complete sentences, subject–verb agreement, and clause boundaries. A clearer version of the conclusion could use two coordinated clauses: “Although streaming is convenient and cost-effective, cinemas remain culturally and economically important.”
