Student answer (Band 5.5)
In the digital era, people are now prefer to watch entertainment such as movies and dramas on online platform rather then going to the theatres and cinemas. While, other people believe that theatres and cinemas are still has significant value in both aspects economically and culturally. In this essay I will discuss both views before presenting my own opinion.
First and foremost, with advent of internet people prefernance also change. Currently, the number of individuals at theatres and cinemas are decreasing. There are many factors of this perspective. Firstly, watching entertainment online is convenient and cost effective. For instance, going theatres and cinemas require efforts and you have to buy tickets and you can stuck into traffic congestion. Therefore, individuals are now prefer watch online at home. Secondly, many people are not like to watch a movie or drama with strangers and they want privacy to watch and enjoy with family. Now days, there are numerous online platforms which offers to watch entertainment at minmum cost. Therefore, people watch online rather the going theatres and cinemas.
On the other hands, many people argue that these places are still revelvent. These places have significant value in many culture. It also has economic aspect which create a many jobs opportunities. In many countries watching movies at cinemas and theatres is a culture. For example, in Indian there is culture of going to cinemas and theatres, there is a huge entertainment industry and people are culturally connected to it. There is an important aspect is economic, there are numerous jobs which is directly connected to the cinemas and theatres. Many production houses are earning capital through these places. Therefore these places are very essential for them. There is also a restaurant industry which is connected with these places. If these places lose their relevance, it has many detrimental effects on the entertainment industry.
In conclusion, although online platform are increasing, these places still have a storng position in the entertainment industry. In my opinion, online platform offers more convenience and its cost effective and theatres and cinemas are now losing their relevence.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address both views and give a clear overall opinion: online entertainment is more convenient, while cinemas and theatres retain importance. The first body paragraph gives relevant reasons, including cost, traffic and privacy, and the second links these venues to cultural traditions and employment, with India as an example. This covers the task, but some points are asserted rather than fully explained. For instance, the claim that cinemas create jobs and support restaurants would be stronger with a specific explanation of how these benefits affect the wider economy. Your conclusion also mainly repeats the contrast; clarify whether you believe venues remain important despite declining attendance, or are becoming less important overall. Developing these ideas more evenly would make the response more complete.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, one paragraph for each view, and a conclusion. Signposting such as “Firstly,” “Secondly,” and “On the other hands” helps readers follow the discussion, and the ideas generally progress in a sensible order. However, the linking is sometimes mechanical, with “Therefore” repeated several times, and some references are unclear. For example, “these places” is used repeatedly without always specifying whether it means cinemas, theatres, or both. The sentence beginning “There is an important aspect is economic” also interrupts the flow between the cultural and economic points. Use more varied transitions and connect each example directly to the claim it supports to make the progression smoother.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use a relevant range of topic vocabulary, including “convenient,” “cost effective,” “privacy,” “culturally connected,” and “detrimental effects.” These choices allow you to discuss both the personal appeal of online viewing and the wider role of entertainment venues. However, inaccurate word forms, spelling and collocations are noticeable and sometimes make the writing less natural: “prefernance,” “revelvent,” “storng,” and “lose their relevance” are examples. Phrases such as “earning capital” and “a many jobs opportunities” also show imprecise vocabulary use. Aim to learn common word partnerships and check spelling and word forms carefully. More precise terms for economic and cultural effects would help you express your ideas with greater flexibility.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a contrast clause beginning “While” and a conditional sentence about venues losing relevance. The main ideas are usually understandable, but errors in verb forms, agreement, articles and sentence construction occur across the response. Examples include “people are now prefer,” “theatres and cinemas are still has,” and “platforms which offers”; these should be revised to use consistent verb forms and subject–verb agreement. Some sentences are also awkwardly assembled, such as “There is an important aspect is economic,” which makes the relationship between ideas harder to follow. Practise building accurate clauses before adding complexity, and check articles and plural forms during proofreading. Greater control of these patterns would make your meaning clearer.
