Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You address both sides of the discussion: you argue that cinemas contribute economically and culturally, then explain that online viewing is more affordable and accessible. Your own view is also present in the suggestion that policymakers reduce ticket prices. However, the position is not consistently clear: the opening appears to support online entertainment, while the next paragraph calls cinemas crucial. The economic and cultural claims are asserted rather than explained with specific examples, and the affordability point is repeated in the conclusion without further development. To strengthen the response, state your position clearly from the beginning and support each main idea with a relevant example or explanation. The eight words copied from the task prompt were not counted toward the response length.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The response has recognisable sections for the introduction, the two views, your opinion and the conclusion, so the reader can identify its broad structure. You also use signposts such as “On the other hand” and “In conclusion.” However, progression within paragraphs is weak: the first body paragraph moves from GDP to relaxation, culture, and screen effects without clearly connecting these points. Linking words such as “moreover” and “in addition” are repeated, sometimes joining ideas that do not develop one another. The conclusion largely repeats the price-reduction idea. Organise each paragraph around one central point, explain it, and use fewer, more precise transitions and clear references between sentences.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You attempt vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “GDP,” “cultural,” “technology advancement,” and “sound effect,” and you distinguish between cinema viewing and watching online. However, the range is limited and many word choices or collocations are inaccurate, which sometimes makes the intended meaning difficult to follow. Examples include “fraction of individual,” “strongly advocate with this opinion,” and “connect with their culturaly and religion.” Spelling and word-form errors such as “flim,” “basicaly,” and “decrase” are also noticeable. Build a bank of accurate topic phrases and check spelling and word forms; prefer natural expressions such as “a proportion of people,” “support this view,” and “cultural and religious traditions.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
You attempt some longer sentences using connectors such as “because,” “although,” and “so,” but these complex structures are often faulty, and sentence boundaries are not controlled consistently. For example, “because it help to nation to grow their GDP and wealth” has problems with subject–verb agreement and sentence construction, while “the people feel like real compare watching online” lacks a clear grammatical comparison. Articles, plurals, and verb forms are also frequently inaccurate, as in “theatres and cinemas are most important part” and “it help.” Capitalisation and punctuation, especially missing spaces after commas and extensive use of capitals, further reduce accuracy. Practise building clear simple sentences first, then add one subordinate clause at a time and check agreement, articles, and punctuation.
