Student answer (Band 6.0)
There have been some conflicting views on whether people watch all the entertainment on online or they have follow the older way entertainment. In my opinion theatres and cinemas remain economically and culturally vital despite the rise of online streaming platforms.
The people who think that cinemas are no longer important they think because of the online streaming platforms like Netflix, Youtube, Jiohotstar will provide them to watch endless entertainment show at home rather than go to a theatres. Also they think that it is a money saving as online platforms just required only one month or one yearly plan which will save their money instead of going to cinema buying tickets, travelling cost. But as some believe that theatres are still economically and culturally important becuase due to this there is impact on economy as theaters or cinemas provide jobs to people like guards, cleaner, ticket staff while also boost surrounding small business like restaurant and shops. Also going out to a show or a movie is a shared social ritual that brings friends and families together and reduces isolation.
In my personal opinion, theatres and cinemas continue to hold a unique and irreplaceable value. While digital platforms win on convenience and daily casual viewing, physical venues offer a collective human experience. Watching a major film premiere or a live theater performance surrounded by a live audience creates a shared energy that a living room screen cannot duplicate. Furthermore, they form the backbone of the creative economy and support local neighborhoods.
In conclusion, rather some people start prefering online platform over cinemas and theaters but they have are still very important, as it depicts are culture and build our social connections shared our true feelings when we go out on theater or a cinemas.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
You address both sides of the discussion and state a clear opinion: cinemas and theatres remain “economically and culturally vital.” The case for online viewing is relevant, with convenience and lower costs explained, while the opposing view includes employment, support for nearby businesses, and shared social experiences. Your own position is also supported by the contrast between streaming and the atmosphere of a live audience. This gives the response a solid, relevant foundation. However, the two views are not developed equally: the economic and cultural benefits receive more detail, while the online argument is mostly about cost and convenience. The conclusion also repeats your position rather than drawing the discussion together. Develop the online perspective further and make the final summary more precise to strengthen the response.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction, a discussion of both views, a paragraph explaining your opinion, and a conclusion. Ideas generally progress from online convenience to the benefits of physical venues, and linking expressions such as “Also,” “But,” and “Furthermore” help show relationships. However, the main discussion places both sides in one long paragraph, making the shift between viewpoints less clear. Some transitions are awkward or repetitive, and the conclusion’s opening, “rather some people start prefering,” does not clearly connect the ideas. Use separate paragraphs for the two views, and make each paragraph’s opening sentence signal its focus. Clearer referencing and more natural transitions would make the progression easier to follow.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
You use an adequate range of topic vocabulary, including “online streaming platforms,” “shared social ritual,” “collective human experience,” and “creative economy.” These phrases help express relevant ideas about convenience, culture, and employment, and the meaning is generally understandable. There are also attempts at more specific language, such as “backbone” and “irreplaceable value.” However, several word choices and collocations are inaccurate or unnatural, including “endless entertainment show,” “money saving,” and “depicts are culture.” Spelling errors such as “becuase” and “prefering” also reduce accuracy. Aim to use familiar collocations precisely before adding more ambitious expressions; for example, describe platforms as offering a wide range of content and venues as contributing to local economies.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a contrast with “While digital platforms win on convenience…” and a relative clause in “a shared social ritual that brings friends and families together.” These structures show some range, and the main ideas can usually be understood. However, errors in sentence construction and verb forms recur. For example, “people watch all the entertainment on online” and “they have follow” are not grammatically formed, while “the people who think … they think” creates a faulty, repetitive structure. Articles and agreement also need attention in phrases such as “go to a theatres” and “platforms just required.” The final sentence contains several connected grammatical problems. Practise building clear subject–verb sentences, checking articles and verb forms, and punctuating longer sentences carefully.
