Student answer (Band 5.0)
In the modern era, people are using to watch movies and web series on OTT platforms. It
is often argued that in the modern age, theatres and cinemas are no longer significant as individuals can watch all the entertainment which they can easily get from online platforms. While others believe that theatres and cinemas are still crucial on the basis of economic and culture. This essay will articulate the perspectives along with my own view.
To commence with the first view, movies and entertainment shows are easily available on online platfroms so citizens can watch there favourite movie shows along with there entertainment shows. To be more precise, people do not have to spend there more wealth on cinemas and theatres. For instance, netizens who are living nearby are using to watch various films and shows at there home. Consequently, individuals are spending more time at there home by watching different types of shows and movies at home.
On the other hand, the group of citizens think that theatres and cinemas are still significant for both economically and socially. To elaborarte further on this point, individuals can able to know our culture via visiting at theatres and cinemas which can help people to know more about our culture. A clear example of this would be, we were use to see movies at our home but currently we are going to theatres and cinemas to see films and entertainment to learn about our culture. as a result, netizens are socialising with others and not getting isolate at their home.
According to my perception, we should have to visit theatres and cinemas. The main reason is we can meet other individuals which are at our surroundings.
To recapitulate, there are some information regarding cinemas and theatres. Though both the point of view have merit. However, I beileve that we should have to watch our favourite movies and enetrtainment at theatres and cinemas.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You address both views and state a preference for attending cinemas, so the response is relevant to the question. However, the discussion is only partial: the online-entertainment paragraph mainly says that people can watch at home and save money, while the case for cinemas is reduced to learning about culture and meeting others. These points need clearer explanation and more specific support. For example, explain how online viewing affects cinema businesses, or how theatres contribute to employment and local economies, since the prompt explicitly raises economic importance. Your opinion is present, but “we should have to visit” is not fully explained beyond social contact. Develop the reasons on both sides and make your position more consistently clear to strengthen the response.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, a paragraph giving your opinion, and a conclusion. Linking phrases such as “On the other hand” and “To recapitulate” help signal these stages. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes repetitive or unclear. In the first body paragraph, the ideas about watching films at home and spending more time at home repeat one another rather than advancing the argument. References such as “there” and “our” also make it difficult to identify whose experience or culture is meant. The conclusion repeats the preference without bringing the main arguments together. Use clearer topic sentences, connect each example directly to its point, and vary or reduce formulaic transitions.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some topic-related vocabulary, including “OTT platforms,” “economically,” “culture,” and “socialising,” which helps communicate the subject. However, the range is limited and several words or phrases are repeated, especially “individuals,” “shows,” “movies,” and “significant.” There are also noticeable spelling and word-choice problems, such as “platfroms,” “elaborarte,” “beileve,” and “enetrtainment,” as well as unnatural expressions like “spend there more wealth” and “getting isolate.” These sometimes make the intended meaning less clear. Aim for accurate, natural collocations and more precise terms—for example, distinguish between ticket costs, cultural value, and social interaction—rather than relying on repeated general words.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a contrast clause beginning “While others believe…” and a result clause introduced by “Consequently.” However, complex constructions are often faulty, and errors occur frequently enough to make some sentences difficult to follow. Examples include “people are using to watch,” “individuals can able to know,” and “we were use to see,” where verb forms or auxiliary patterns are incorrect. There are also problems with articles, agreement, and sentence boundaries, as in “as a result” after a full stop and “both the point of view have merit.” Practise building accurate basic clauses first, then add subordinate clauses; check verb patterns, tense consistency, and capitalization after full stops.
