Student answer (Band 5.5)
In the digital age, people have access to enormous amount of entertainment ,so fore some peope belive that there will be no longer importance or requirnment of cinemas and live shows. At the other end, numrous individuals belive that people watch movies and entertain themselves online but cinemas an live shows never replaced by online ways they remain usefull economically and culturally. In my opinion cinemas cannot be replaced and remain usefull because it is a way of entertinment with friends and family and also cinemas promote local beisnuss like cafes resturents
On the one hand, there are numrous reasons why people belive cinemas and theaters less usefull now a days. Firstly, people have access to great amount of entertainment platforms like Netflix ,youtube, Tiktok, etc on which they can watch any sort of entertaining material which they prefer like comedy, mistory,or thrill.Secondly, numrous people have a bissy daily rutine they donot have much time to entertain their own mind so online platforms are the best way to pass their time. For example, people who have a daily rutine with no time to go cinema online platfoms are the best way to pass time.
On the other side, theaters an cinemas continue have cultural are economical benefit. From economic perspective cinemas provide employment to numrous workers like actors, cleaners, writers, etc.Additonally it provides sport to local market work like resturents, cafes and shopes.Culturally it provides a way of combined entertainment which is not possible in any way online. For example, going to cinema provides a way to connect with local cultre and comunity which is not possible any other way.
At the end online entertainment is very easily accessable to all of us and also equire less time but theaters and cinemas are the best entertainment methodes both economically and culturally.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address both views and give a clear opinion: you argue that online entertainment is convenient, while cinemas remain valuable for social, economic and cultural reasons. The examples of streaming platforms and cinema-related businesses are relevant to the question. However, some points are asserted rather than fully explained. For instance, the claim that busy people prefer online platforms is repeated in the example without showing why this makes cinemas less important. The cultural benefit of connecting with the local community is also mentioned but not illustrated in detail. To strengthen the response, explain the consequences of each point and use a specific example, while making your comparison of the two views more balanced and precise.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, a paragraph for each view, and a concluding opinion. Signposting such as “On the one hand” and “On the other side” helps readers follow the discussion. Overall, the ideas are arranged coherently, but connections within paragraphs can be mechanical, and some points repeat rather than progress—for example, the point about busy people using online platforms is restated in the following example. The conclusion also repeats the main position without drawing together the economic and cultural arguments. Use clearer links between claims and supporting examples, and ensure each paragraph develops its central idea step by step. More precise referencing would also help readers see how examples support the argument.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “digital age,” “entertainment platforms,” “employment,” and “culturally,” and you attempt to discuss economic and community effects. However, the range is limited and several spelling and word-choice errors are noticeable, such as “bissy,” “mistory,” “beisnuss,” and “accessable.” Some combinations are also unnatural, including “combined entertainment” and “provide a way to connect with local culture.” These errors sometimes make the reader pause, even though the general meaning is usually recoverable. Build a more accurate set of topic-specific expressions and check spelling carefully. Prefer natural collocations such as “shared experience” and “support local businesses,” and avoid repeating “numerous” and “way” where more precise wording is available.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including clauses introduced by “because,” “which,” and “who,” so the response shows some structural variety. However, control is inconsistent, and errors in sentence construction, agreement, articles and punctuation occur across the response. For example, “cinemas and live shows never replaced by online ways” is missing a verb form, while “cinemas provide employment to numerous workers” shifts awkwardly into “it provides” in the next sentence. Several sentences also run ideas together without clear punctuation, as in the opening paragraph. Practise forming complete clauses and checking subject–verb agreement, articles and sentence boundaries. More accurate control of these patterns would make your argument easier to read.
